There is an absolute log jam from 2nd to 11th in the SBC standings. APP is right in there (as of today)

This team for all its faults does not quit for the most part. Its not pretty most of the time but they compete.
As fans this is all you can ask for.

Where is St. Laurent?
I was curious about that too. His righty batting would have potentially helped against the lefties thrown by OD

Hasn’t played in a couple games and got subbed out in the GS series a couple times. Not sure if lineup switch or maybe nagging injury. Baseball is a long season for the body. We’re going to need him down the stretch

This comment might actually serve better as a completely different topic. How often does a particular sport at the college level (mainly mid level such as App) dramatically improve from, say average (.500ish) to much better or great after removing a solid/good coach who loves where he's at, has no trouble within, graduates players and generally does things right? We have a faction of "fans" here who routinely clamor for coaching changes every time we see a perceived dip in a particular sport's performance. I don't know zip about our baseball coach and only see the games and outcomes. I also believe that the Belt is now a really tough conference for baseball based on the rankings. Coastal is in the top 25 with 4 conference losses. Basically I'm not a believer in cycling through coaches with the hopes of landing some magical solution. I hate seeing App athletics as close to .500 (right now) but this stuff often goes in cycles. Again, I know nothing about coach Smith but if he loves being here and is doing things the right way he deserves the job.

Hate that for him. What’s his injury? We’ve got solid bats still in the lineup, going to take a complete team effort. Next man up! Dylan Rodgers came thru last night. Who will it be today!?

Man, giving up 6 extra base hits in three innings plus giving up four walks…. that’s why we’re down 7-0…. Yikes.

Before my TV went out (probably mercifully) we put a guy in who has pitched about 4 innings with an ERA at 14.5. How is that even possible?

Just depends on if they think they can do better. Sometimes it's cheaper to keep em. But if they think they can get O'Neil, or Ramirez, I think they have to.

Saw that too 😳. Man our pitching is abysmal to say the least. How can App land any pitcher near the talent of this ODU guy? His stats do not lie. At this point just hope we don’t get mercy ruled for the second time in less than a week.

hate to see our guys losing like this...really hope our pitching gets better soon. our starter seems good..but after that..so much inconsistency...i am no baseball guru..but we need some quality depth in the bull pen to be successful......seems like we do well on friday nights and then just hope and pray we can do enough on sat or sun to squeek out a series win

As previously stated, the bull pen issues date back to the Jones Era.

Hate to say but it was about what I expected .Past our Friday starter we have to depend on luck , and that isn't a great strategy.
