All I really care about is potentially getting in top 3 in conference. We are not getting an at-large bid anywhere....so top 3 would be good going into conference tourney...good series win...the only series left that we will be significant underdogs is Beach Chickens....not saying favored in others...but we can win if we can put runs up on the board

really proud of this team...i fully expected us to lose just based on how pitching has looked past Hamilton but what a great series win against a very good team!

Yes a really good win! This is what can happen when good pitching (kudos to Caleb Cross) getting K’s with little walks and just really good hitting particularly with runners in scoring position. Just really well done!!!!!!!

I have no idea how the baseball RPI works because there are teams with bad records ahead of us but there are 305 total and after today shouldn't we move close to 100? I always say that in football if we are ranked at least 40th that is the top 1/3. Get to inside 100 for baseball and it's the same percentage. Huge series next weekend for sure. Coastal is legit and will get an at large no matter what unless they crater but we are still in the mix.

Edit that previous comment about a half game out. Guess CC lost today. Good for us. Will the cancelled conference game bite us?

It really was a good bit of coaching yesterday managing the bullpen. It got away from us early yesterday. Instead of throwing out the good arms try and to keep it close, Coach seemed to hold back for todays rubber match.

A great opportunity to knock off top 10 ranked Wake on Tuesday in Shelby. Keep the bats hot!

Do we even use one of our better starters for these mid week games?

Nobody uses their top pitchers midweek. Save em for the conference series on the weekend.

College pitching probably comparable to college defensive backs. You get a few legit studs who can shut down the opponent but most can't.

Our Friday pitcher should be able to start Tuesday and start again Sunday. That should not be a problem for damaging his arm. I will be very disappointed if we don't throw a weekend starter against Wake. It is doable.

I don’t think our coaching staff will want to start Hamilton on three days rest against Wake Forest. He threw 126 pitches against ODU and needs adequate recovery time. Way too risky.

At this point weekday days are irrelevant - have the starters play a couple innings get the reserves some hacks. Get some of the other pitchers a few innings.

Should be a good series this weekend, as JMU swept Louisiana this past weekend at home.

My guess is Chirico and Tujestch/Welch tackle the first few innings. Then we address the pen after 4-5 innings. Is Tujetsch out? Hasn't thrown in nearly a month.

16 and 23: the number of baseball programs in North Carolina and contiguous states in the top 50 and 100 RPI respectively; Which includes Wofford, Charlotte, Coastal, Georgia Southern, Campbell, ECU, William and Mary, and Mercer. Add to that the laundry list of ACC and SEC programs tearing it up right now.

Top 50/100 RPI’s are being achieved by programs big and small, high altitude and low, cold springs and warm springs, in beautiful locals and 💩 holes (Charlotte/GS), by schools with far less resources than App has. It CAN be achieved in Boone also. App sits at 106 today.

Why not at App? Dare to dream.
