Could you imagine the look on the face of and response from Saban if he got some of these goofy questions in his presser? Coaches in general must shudder sometimes when they get off topic (often dumb) questions. Most want to be polite and give an answer but geez. NASCAR teams? And the stadium attendance goes without saying.

No doubt Karon would be seeing the field if he was healthy. But he's not and hasn't been. So, while it's a surprise to the family base, it's not a surprise to the staff and they've been preparing for this for months so it's not going to be a blow to the rotation. There was hope he could still make the field, but it's just not going to happen and absolutely no reason to risk anything further.
I figured when he was left off the projected depth chart that the injury must have been serious. I did not think talent had anything to do with it.

The only problem that I saw with the question was timing. Not a necessary one for the week one press conference.

On another note, DJ is in mid season form with his questions.

I haven't seen the press conference yet... I'm going at least 75% of the talking time was from David Ware again.

He really makes it impossible to watch these press conferences... I know the administration at one point joked about holding two -- one so Ware can sit in front of the mic to give his updates and another one so the actual trained media professionals that can actually do their jobs.

CO is a sorry excuse for a newspaper.
Seems like the Winston Salem journal would have had someone there.

Good to hear! Hopefully they continue to reign him in. His "reporting" is so brutal to listen to.

Rogers shut down The Blowing Rock News to work for the Watauga Democrat/Mountain Times Publications a couple years ago. That worked as well as I and many others thought it would (it didn't) and now he has a different blog.

I criticize Ware for his question asking trying to make himself sound like a know-it-all (and the administration's treatment of him at times has been poor), but he's a saint of a reporter compared to Rogers.

Yeah, my criticism of Ware is simply on his necessity to hear himself talk and thinks the press conference is about him..

Talking about pure journalism -- I couldn't tell you the first thing that makes a good one. I do know one thing that makes you hard to listen to is constantly taking over a press conference though.

Is Rogers the guy that always said "____ from the paper?" I forget that guys name but he was always interesting to give interviews too. Nice guy, just quirky.

Ware is also really nice. Nothing against the guy. I just can't watch a press conference with him in it...

I mean it’s it not like statewide or national media attend our press conferences. He seems to do his homework and his questions keep them from being 5 min affairs attended by only the watagua democrat, high county press and the Appalachian. Idk, I enjoy his work.

To each their own. But, if I'm watching/listening to a press conference with Coach Clark, I want to hear Coach Clark talk about App State Football for however long the press conference takes.

I do not want to hear any reporter talk for 15 minutes simply so the conference can be longer. I don't give two shits about what Ware did 3 weeks ago at sun down on the Blue ridge parkway, but he'll let you know. I also don't care what a player on Coastal Carolina did 15 years ago in the NFL when we're playing Georgia Southern, but he'll let you know!

Steve Behr is "Steve from the Paper." he was at the WatDem for 20ish years until his departure due to health reasons. He's a good dude. He taught me not to care about sounding stupid asking a question, because it can get a good answer. He's still welcomed by the athletics department to games.

Rogers is David Rogers. He also asks long questions. Rogers is the second guy asking questions in today's presser. He loves asking about Anderson Castle and other WHS players.
