I haven't read the last 7ish pages...

I was unfortunately unable to come up the mountain today, but that may have been beneficial. I was able to see the all 22 more often than not. We ran literally nothing but base all day. Offense, defense, special teams.

It was by design. We should have not struggled as much as we did with base, but like I've said all week, GW is better than most think. But, we got the win, showed our future opponents literally nothing, and have A LOT of film for our 2s and 3s to get better...

The 1s have work, but again, that was "by design."

Even outside of QB, I think we saw a lot of 2s push the 1s and that's a good thing.

Just wanted to mention that with 9 minutes to go in the half in Athens number 1 Ga is up 7-0 over FCS UT Martin who plays in the same conference as GW. If they ultimately win by 21 will there be a meltdown on their message board?

They wanted to fire Bobo 30 seconds into the game. He’s a massive downgrade from Monken.

Some of you haters are just full of shit - go find another team because all you do is bitch --- This game played out like some of thought - struggle for awhile but wear them down and take over - pretty much what 94 predicted - I think he said 31-17 and I was in the same area - Good game to study film and see who did or didn't do what because GW had a competitive team - Aguilar looked much more comfortable
David Jackson said prior to the start that we probably wouldn't see Marshall - don't know about Roberts - also announced Burger was hurt and wouldn't return ---

Impressed with Haywood, Noel was good too. Could tell they got a little winded at times, going to need a 3-4 guys next week!

Thank you for a little bit of analysis, unlike the chicken littles on here.
O-line looks really rough. Defense is showing flashes of great play and then some awful mistakes. Burger is keeping plays alive despite his o-line not giving him time. Impressed by him so far.

You want analysis? We are getting bullied in all aspects by an FCS team. That should be enough analysis for you. Our head coach is in over his head

I have to disagree slightly with your base offense comment. I saw a double reverse flea flicker (that didn't work), a few jet sweeps and a couple other trickier plays.
I think we opened it up a bit. We threw to our tight ends more. If we have lots more in the playbook I'm excited.

Got the win. Wasn't pretty at times, and play calling looked vanilla. Hopefully it's just to not play our cards out the gate against a FCS school. I do think the line needs to be a bit more aggressive and show their power. That's something that should happen regardless of the game plan and opponent. Looks like the offense flows better with Aguilar, but probably was hard for coaches to see that in a non game setting.

I don’t understand why so many people are up in arms. We just won by 21 against a team that played CCU, Liberty and GSU to single digits the last 2 years. We have new coordinators, new tackles, new transfers, a NEW QB. Let them get time!! We made adjustments and blasted the crap out of them. Great job coaches and players.

Some guys seem to be just waiting around for a misstep so that you can be proven right on your doomsday predictions. I don't know why you both watching the games.

Regarding the zero chance against UNC...in 2019 our offensive genius coach had us leading 14-0 against ETSU, a team that had just re-started its program. in game 2, we gave up 41 points to a terrible Charlotte team and held on to win a shoot out. In week 3, we beat UNC at their field.

Look, nobody is thrilled with the first half, but we are figuring some things out. It appears that Aguilar might be the man. My guess is we see both QBs a fair amount this year. The D shows definite improvement. Sure, they have things to improve and identifying those is the reason we play a decent FCS team in week 1. I don't know what's going to happen, but I'll be damned if I give up in the first half of game 1.

But shawn clark has been a failure since he got here. This isnt just a reaction to the first half. Hes like 5-13 vs teams we are +/- 5pt favorite/underdog (he doesnt do well against teams at our level), 1st bowl loss in humiliating fashion. Lost 28-3 lead vs JMU, texas state, Hasnt recruited any good players in 3 years, massive losses for louisiana, took over an awesome team and 0 conference titles...I mean...are you an App fan? Are you just learning this?

I'm aware of what has happened over the past 3 seasons and it's been discussed ad nauseum. You're entitled to your opinion, no matter how asanine it is. You do know there are other teams in the conference who are practicing too, right?

1. Youre a keyboard warrior. PM me and ill meet you at the ECU game brother. Youre attitude will be remarkebly different.

2. Other teams practicing is irrelavant. We went 13 years (minus the 2 transition years where we were not allowed a postseason) where we went 5-0 in bowl games, 3 IAA titles, 11 double digit win seasons and 11 conference titles and pushing 3 top 10 teams to the limit all while other teams were practicing.

3. You have a losers mentality. Only accept excellence. This is something you should have learned in middle school ball. Tolerance of mediocrity is an excuse to lose and a sign of low testesterone. We are better than that at App State.

Just want to say there are a few on here who seem to want us to go 4-8, fire Clark, pay his buyout (do we have all kinds of money?), bring in some stud coach who won't use us for a stepping stone and we will magically be top 20. Just breathe and enjoy the win.

In our current position (conference and landscape), we will be a stepping stone. We need to.embrace it and stay relevant with transfers and consecutive winning/relevant seasons. We can worry about sustaining a coach when the dust settles from.conference realignment.

At this rate I just want the W. I want burger with a game under his belt. I'm not happy with the lack of player preparation on Clarks watch this off season but it is what it is now. I just want the W and try to build some confidence and momentum. Lets do it.
