I was under the impression that no other teams used KBS for practice any more. Is that not true? Hopefully in the not to distant future we will have a new indoor practice facility with more space. As for the cocktail hours and outdoor seating, I am pretty sure there is a large balcony on the backside of the building that could easily accommodate those functions equally as well. The naming rights could easily be transferred to any seating area and all the NEZ ticket holders could be given the options of agreeing to the change or opt out and be off the hook so to say. I have no doubt that any NEZ ticket holder that choose to opt out would quickly be filled by another fan wanting those seats. Truthfully, this isn't something that can be done quickly and I bet by the time the money was in place, all the NEZ contracts would be up anyways. Just saying that it makes the most sense for new permanent seating and it looks way better.
Teams will occasionally use the stadium for conditioning, but for the most part, that is correct.
However, all teams on campus use the indoor practice facility multiple times a week.

The locker rooms and weight area are on 1st floor, coaches offices and meeting rooms on 2nd, I’m not sure what is on 3rd (think it may be catering/food prep), and Grand Ballroom on 4th. If permanent seating goes in where NEB is that effectively blocks view of field from player and coach areas. That would be a negative for recruiting when a recruit walks out into a big wall.
Someone on or near campus needs to post a picture so all can see how ugly it is from that view.

Do PE classes and intramurals use KBS?

Yup. It looks like a prison inside with the bleachers there.

Obviously a permanent solution would look better than the temp seats.

Unless they somehow move the windows in front of the stands to get that view back, anything there is going to block it and make it look like a claustrophobic prison.
My construction experience is flipping houses so this is way above my expertise. I'm sure it can be done -- but it's not going to be cheap.
The better option would be roll away bleachers and that has been investigated. It's just not worth the price for 6 weekends a year at this point.

Looks better having the seating below the NEZ seats. Was never a fan of the open area, especially when the OCD in me already cringes with the building being off center.
However, if the open space is needed and actually utilized for many other purposes, then it does make sense
The space was never there before other than the inside the track. It is added room which is always good for practice.
Here’s a random thought…the old tennis courts, can those be turned into a practice or conditioning area? For any team, not just football? Aren’t there about 5-6 courts up there? Maybe position groups? I know it’s used for gameday parking but is that all?

As an example of why the NEB can't be there permanently...
Football is the only team on campus with scheduled use of the indoor facility until after ECU game. So, not only does it take away practice space from football, it, in turn, takes practice space away from ALL sports should they need to schedule the indoor facility (weather and ad hoc requests are still in play)..
Until they can figure out a way to cost effectively, efficiently, quickly, and safely be able to remove the bleachers after a football game, it won't be something we see every game..
And the promise of field access to NEZ ticket holders is the smallest of reasons..
Women's Softball and ROTC use Indoor regularly, from what I've witnessed.

They do normally, correct. But they have not been able to at their normal times for the last 2-3 weeks because of the bleachers. For some position drills, football had to use the indoor facility and kicked others out of their normal times.

The problem is having the offices underneath low hanging seating to begin with. The whole building was poorly laid out.

Would be great to have those corners connected on both sides to the NEZ building with bowl shape. I know it is a long term plan, but I liked the view point of the NEB as I enjoy seeing the lines either open or close holes and the decisions of skill players on where to go.
So basically I'm saying I need to be in the NEZ but just paid $15 per seat for NEB and it hurts to pay normal ticket prices right now, so that NEZ won't happen. And I think I'm too old and falling apart to get up from the grass on the hill.
