2025 Football Schedule????

Unread post by spacemonkey » Sun Sep 10, 2023 7:56 pm

Anyone know why 2025 away schedule is still open? Are we having that hard of a time getting someone to sign us up? 2025 is pretty close for Football Scheduling.

We have NC State and Toledo at home but no away games listed.

I know of one that hasn’t been announced, but will be soon. I’m pretty happy about it.

Wasn’t the rumor that NC State was trying to get out of the contract?

Seems we are running out of in state options. Don’t think Dook will ever do it.

May not want to play Duke. They could be the best ACC team in NC.

Depends on when. They have a good year or two and then fall off usually.

What's the point of sharing that and not just saying the name of the school? Does the game not happen if you share the name on the message board? Not trying to force you to disclose, just don't understand the point of even saying anything.

Not scheduling Appalachian is illogical. If you're a serious CFP contender you want quality wins, if you're a mid tier you'll get a quality matchup that gets eyes on you're program. Losing to App or any Sun Belt team isn't what it used to be. Grow up

Oh and not scheduling someone b/c you're afraid to lose means you're not a competitor and it speaks volumes about the character of your program.

I'm old enough to remember when Florida State was having a hard time getting people to play them. They had the "anytime, anywhere" attitude. Since we have never played them, I assume they are afraid to play us. I would think our people would jump at the opportunity to schedule them. Very disappointing to me that we have never played them. Equally disappointed that we have not been able to schedule WVU. I would assume they are afraid to schedule us too.

“Nothing to gain, everything to lose” is the ACC fan mantra on Twitter. So I posed the question, what do NCSU and UNC gain from playing VMI and Campbell?

“Less likely to lose and lower payout” is the response.

So weak! Never mind the sold out stadiums, entertaining games and family/friends trash talk. Fans would rather have a predetermined outcome before entering the stadium. Some of these programs play 7-8 home games a season, which isn’t enough of an advantage, so they pad their schedules with “almost guaranteed” wins against the sisters of the poor.

We need a rule that App CANNOT play south of the Ga. line. The state of Florida is not our friend.

IIRC, we’ve scheduled FSU. After we beat Michigan, they paid us $75K to not play the game. Circa 08-09ish, I believe. Anyone with actual knowledge of the situation, please feel free to chime in.

I prefer we don't engage in UNC tactics. If Duke is good if and when we play then thats awesome, makes the victory that much better.

Agree. My comment was in jest to Carolina isn’t the best P5 in the state.
