Just wanted to drop a line and say that was an awesome 3 game series that we had. I’ll tell you, going in, I thought we’d crush App. I have a ton of App friends and I had told them as much. I was wrong, and I look forward to letting a State tangle with the ‘Neers for next round or two. Have a great season! Much respect from a Tar Heel!

Seriously, this holier than thou crap is old. UNC has not proven themselves to be a better program, or a better school, than App State.

Also, that Maye/Hampton backfield is something to watch out for! Such great little guys you have there for a little small ol' UNC program.

I find this perception UNC holds of ECU and App quite funny. App gets 40,000 to Boone, could maybe do 48,000 for UNC, ECU, NCSU, and maybe Wake. ECU has had 50,000+ games before in Greenville. UNC is lucky to get 48,000 in the stands in Chapel Hill. This "gulf" is non-existent.

I take the Tarheel comment as genuine and appreciate the comment. There are a few Tarheel football fans with some darn sense.

I just hope the Tarheels reschedule us again when opportunity presents especially after they evaded us for 80 years or so. I do agree and would hope that NCState plays us in the future and at a pinnacle level. Also don't forget about Duke! We can say what we want about Wake but at least historically speaking they have played us enough to call it an in state rivalry and we have beaten them and give them fits. I stand to be corrected but have we ever played Duke? NCState is very rare....... I think we have played SCarolina more and Clemson.

There’s nothing inherently wrong with what our friend above is saying. It’s the fact that he IS saying it that is a bit condescending. Like someone else said, not a one of us would get on the Marshall message boards after a close win and say “boy, I thought we’d kill y’all, but we just won by a little! Y’all got a good quarterback!”
App State has a very long winning tradition in football. We don’t need anyone to pay us on the back and say “we’re proud of you.”
I’m glad homeboy is trying to share some positivity, but when you come on the message board that is specifically for App State fans and “congratulating” us for losing… it smacks of condescension.
