Never underestimate a desperate opponent .Houston is coaching for his job.
That’s all well and good. But the talent level doesn’t change on the roster from week to week.
But their strength seems to be on the DL and good run D. That will be a challenge for our RBs. While Garcia has struggled thru the air, he is a good runner, which at times has given us problems.

Clark mentions getting Roberts and Marshall in more and earlier. Has there been nothing on Marshall being injured? If he hasn't then Haywood jumped him by a lot.

100%. It is going to be strength on strength with the run game. I feel good about moving the ball though with Joey Dimes. We may have to open up the run game with some throws.

We should handle ECU accordingly. My big concern is the dings a bruises and injuries from UNC lingering. If they play out like this past Saturday no one left on schedule can touch us. Not going to be able to look past anyone though

My thoughts wondered there as well but then I quickly reminded myself that last year I didn’t think that anyone other than Troy could hold us to 40 points. Gotta play ‘em one at a time.

Practice and prepare like a champion week in and week out...odds are you win more than you lose. Sometimes you never know what you will get with young players at this age. I feel like if they can get over UNC and mentally reset for EasyU, we have a good opportunity to win.
Personally, I believe this will be a close game and would not be surprised if their QB2 gets considerable playing time.

This Will be a tough game. EasyU will not want to go 0-3....and we spent much mental and physical energy.
Here is the thing. The leader of this team isn't as emotionally invested as some others. He's from California and has not experience with the UNC or ECU rivalries. To him, these are just the next game on the schedule, and that's why I think this won't be an issue. It was an emotional game but to Joey, it was just the next game. That will be a huge boost, I think, for the entire team.

Like I said, to rephrase, if we underestimate them, we get beat. Contract or no , the heat is on their staff and AD. We recruit the same guys and they will be hungry. We need to absolutely bring it Saturday.

I noticed that in his post game presser. You could tell he wasn’t “impressed” with UNC the way some are (and many in NC are). It was just another game to him. I’m sure some of that is being from the west coast and not having to deal with UNC every day.

I also just think he’s chill as hell and doesn’t let emotions get him too up or down.
Give 'em hell!

Line opened at -9.5 O/U 49.5.

30-20ish type game. If the over hits I really like our chances.

I know, glad we aren't playing The Bruins or The Prophylactic Posse or he might be throwing up before the game?

As weel as we performed against the Holes, an 0-2 ECU is no layup or slam dunk win. We may be the third best team they've played so far. It's going to be tough to win, coming of an emotional game for everyone but Joey.

Saturday could be a bit of a tone setter for both teams. We should come out with our hair on fire and just lay the wood. A win for us greatly helps and gets us to 2-1 headed to a tough Wyoming. A loss and obviously we could be staring at a 1-3 start. Last week was no fluke we are solid especially at the skill positions and our lines look good as well. A loss by ECU could have them staring at a really rough rebuild season. AAC still has a few tough ones. One at a time but the stadium will be crazy and we need to flex some muscle Saturday.

After watching the ECU Marshall game my conclusion is that ECU will not be an easy out for us. The Herds stellar D pulled it through for them. I still think we win but it will take another A game. I think we prevail but doubt it will be a cake walk.

ECU / Marshall was a weird game. Has anyone watched it? Marshall up 10-0 at the end of the first quarter. ECU up 13-10 at the start of the fourth. Final 31-13 Marshall.

Marshall’s star RB had a Weird game too. 18-85 with 3 tds. Sounds great. Weird breakdown though:

16 carries, 15 yards, 1 touchdown.

2 carries, 70 yards, 2 touchdowns in the 4th quarter.
These are 2 future opponents getting a little spotlight:

The UNC game told me that Joey's attitude really has been pervasive in the locker room. Guys weren't super emotional, there weren't a ton of celebrations on the field or "showboating". It was make a play, line up, and on to the next. Even after App got down and had to drive, you just saw that calmness.

For that, I think App is going to benefit greatly. Last year it seemed that part of the downfall other than injuries was the emotional high everyone was on. So a guy like Joey should be able to help there.

Ponce found a good one, for sure.
