Nah. We did play them in 1979, 1981, and 1982.BeauFoster wrote: ↑Tue Sep 12, 2023 7:16 amNo we haven’t. Worked with a Va Tech grad years ago. I actually almost went to that one. I'm glad it was all just a dream.

Re: 2025 Football Schedule????
Just for clarity, the game I know about.....I know from a different source than through APP and the contract is signed and my understanding is it is going to be announced very shortly. It will be week 1.
The WCU comment was completely separate, just saying that it was interesting Clark mentioned them in the PC.

Re: 2025 Football Schedule????
Clark has made it abundantly clear that he is 100% in favor of us playing in state schools for non conference games. I hope he's just being kind to western. He talked about playing Elon and GW. While I see zero upside to playing Montana it is what it is. I looked up the future schedules and are we really playing UNCC 5 straight years?

Re: 2025 Football Schedule????
App cannot afford WCU. They play the likes of Bama ($525k), OU ($625k) and Rkansas ($550k) for those guarantee checks. IIRC, App pays around $100-$150k so those payouts are 3-4+x what App has historically paid.
For a fairer comparison, as far as stadium capacity, Weak is paying them $425k.

I’m hoping Clark misspoke concerning WCU home and home. Absolutely no way H&H. No no no! I’m ok with them being our FCS home game. But no H&H . NO!

I think you guys are confused. He was obviously talking about West Chester University. They had a nail biting victory in week one against a tough Bentley University squad and this past weekend, gave number 15 ranked Slippery Rock all it could handle. These guys are not a team we can look past. #BeatWestChester

Good times sure , the best times ...not so sure. But yes , the plan is to play six home games at a minimum.Even if ND called I don't see that changing.kornegaylw wrote: ↑Mon Sep 11, 2023 9:22 pmI'm getting on my soap box now b/c the thought of sacrificing a home game had me frothy...WASU 93 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 11, 2023 9:14 pmAgreed, plus I don’t think it would work from a revenue standpoint.kornegaylw wrote: ↑Mon Sep 11, 2023 9:11 pmNoappgrad95&97 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 11, 2023 3:40 pmAnyone, anywhere, anytime, might mean not always playing six home games. Respectfully and as a friend please never suggest that again. Game day at KBS is unlike anywhere else. Its beautiful, it's ours, honestly it the loudest stadium I've ever been to and I've been to some SEC games and it's our home.
1 home/2 away, 1 offs and neutral sites are fine as well but DONT sacrifice KBS
Every person on this board would tell you the best times they had in Boone were football related. Appalachian State University is AppSt Football and AppSt Football is Appalachian State University. Giving up home games to play some team is disrespectful to every person that has ever worn black and gold and walked up Stadium drive on a Saturday. If a team asked us to give up a home game then they aren't worth our time.

I believe a NC A&T done right...fcs home and home could work. We play one game at Kidd Brewer and then one at a neutral site. i.e. Bank of America stadium. They would force our home sellout form their tickets purchased, which the powers that be like to see. (Keeps season ticket sells at a premium) We could split ticket sales to the Bank of America game and technically it would be their home game but we would sell more tickets. So, it would be like having 7 home games the year of the away game.

We should NEVER EVER play an FCS team anywhere other than Boone. That is insane!

UNC CHarlotte home
UCF/Memphis/Boise/Wake any well known G5 or willing p5 for a Home and Home
NC A&T - Bank of America
UNC/NCSTATE/Alabama/Georgia/any SEC or Big team that wants to pay us - away BUY GAME
Conference schedule
And the next year play
UCF Away
UNC Charlotte away
NC A&T Home
Wyoming Home
Conference Schedule
This gives us a great buy game for our budget and great ticket sales for our budget. No one is going to know the NC A&T game is us playing away. They are going to see us having 7 home games that year.

Re: 2025 Football Schedule????
Okay...you got me there. I was specifically speaking to a true home and home. One game in KBS and the return game played at a neutral site as an FCS school "home" game may work, depending on our take of the gate and such. I'd be open to an arrangement like that perhaps. Maybe versus ETSU at Bristol Motor Speedway if they ever decide to do a few more college games. I know it's been bounced around about bringing another back-to-back weekends college games to BMS and ETSU/APP would make good sense for one of those games. Assuming the other would again be UT and someone...WVU is the name I've heard.spacemonkey wrote: ↑Tue Sep 12, 2023 10:06 amI believe a NC A&T done right...fcs home and home could work. I go to every home and most of the away. Going to Wyoming. But no way I'm driving to Charlotte or Bristol to see app play a FCS. I think I speak for a majority of our fans that don't live in Charlotte. I'll go watch them in Boone.HkyMtneer wrote: ↑Tue Sep 12, 2023 10:40 amOkay...you got me there.
