Re: Wyoming Discussion
Just realized earlier this game will be on CBSSN, now I have to try to find that, think it might be on Paramount + but not seeing it when I scroll through their live TV channels.

Re: Wyoming Discussion
As to the “acclimation” stuff… Boone is 3333, ECU is 64’. They had no problem adjusting to Boone. Our guys are used to Boone and should have no problems adjusting to Laramie.

Re: Wyoming Discussion
If you haven't been, it is different. ECU to Boone is a difference, but pretty easy to adjust especially for athletes I assume. From Boone to 7,200 feet is a much bigger difference. Hopefully being in great shape the team will adjust better than most regular people that do it.

SCIENCE
Relative to air pressure, technically it's 20.9% at all elevations, but it feels different because it's not as available to the body.
20.9% oxygen at at sea level
18.6% oxygen at 3000'
18.6% oxygen at 3000'
16.0% oxygen at 7000'

Nate can't get 25 carries up there. If blocking is the problem with the other running backs, we might have a problem.

Re: Wyoming Discussion
Our sports nutritionist actually went to Laramie this spring to do a study for the elevation (along with other high elevation destinations in the US). I didn't know if that was public information as it was the first of it's kind, but Clark alluded to it in his presser.
If the study was successful/accurate, our players will be perfectly fine.

Nate had an extra 20% available against ECU so he should be fine.appgrad95&97 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 18, 2023 4:50 pmNate can't get 25 carries up there. If blocking is the problem with the other running backs, we might have a problem.

Re: Wyoming Discussion
It definitely sounds like if we do lose this game it will either be due to the Elevation or the Weather.
I hope our boys and coaches are hard at it on preparation. Won't be an easy game. Aught to win if they play App football. Bohls guys won't make many mistakes.

Leading rusher for the entire country. He looks remarkable right now. I have a feeling he’s got a highlight move stored in the chamber for every game.AtlAppMan wrote: ↑Mon Sep 18, 2023 4:56 pmNate had an extra 20% available against ECU so he should be fine.appgrad95&97 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 18, 2023 4:50 pmNate can't get 25 carries up there. Re: Wyoming Discussion
Like you said, Nate is the lead rusher in the nation. If he wants to carry it 25 times, let him carry it 25 times.GSUwasGump’sFallbackSchool wrote: ↑Mon Sep 18, 2023 5:01 pmLeading rusher for the entire country. He looks remarkable right now. The Pokes are favored, and from what I've seen of them this year plus the significant home advantage of the War, I think they should be.Yosefus wrote: ↑Mon Sep 18, 2023 5:00 pmIt definitely sounds like if we do lose this game it will either be due to the Elevation or the Weather.

This is an extremely good team that's playing with some mojo this year so far. P5-level front seven. Great running game.
I really hope the team is preparing for a war (no pun intended), because they're going to get one.

Re: Wyoming Discussion
Just heard a podcast for Wyoming say they don’t expect their QB Peasley to play. He seems like more of a passing threat than the QB Svoboda who only threw for 136 and 1 INT vs TX. He doesn’t seem like a running threat with 5 rushes for -13 yds with 1 sack.
Peasley was the leading rusher vs TT.
Would seem we may be able to focus on the run primarily. Especially if that wind forecasts is true.

Re: Wyoming Discussion
Isn't their QB uncertainty and depth a big deal? If we don't overpursue on plays and remain disciplined our defense is pretty damn tough.

Re: Wyoming Discussion
I feel really confident about this game for some reason. I believe the team is just coming together and becoming a typical App State team. As far as I am concerned, the OL has played excellent the past two weeks and that is where it all starts for us.

Wyoming will present some unique challenges for us. They are a good litmus test for how we match up with JMU.

Re: Wyoming Discussion
It is a long season and I like our chances in all of the games left on the calendar (IF WE STAY HEALTHY). We have a TOUGH schedule because the Sunbelt is for real. We need to start the write in campaign to AP voters for top 25 recognition if we beat Wyoming and if UNC keeps winning. Overtime game at UNC means we are as good as UNC. When UNC gets to 10-12 we should at least be in the top 25 and it would be easy for AP writers to justify ranking us top 25 (with the UNC overtime) if we continue to win.
