Re: Coastal discussion
I love App State so much... and these losses really hurt.... but I have to try and put it all in perspective. I'm not living in a country with rockets coming down on me, I'm not being kidnapped, and I'm not being hunted down and shot. I get so wound up but I have to say ..it's just football. My life is good and I'll appreciate what I have. Life could be a lot worse.

Re: Coastal discussion
I hate watching this team.
Fire Shawn Clark. I would literally rather truly suck for a year or two while rebuilding than watch this mediocre comedy every week.

Re: Coastal discussion
I just drove 2 and 1/2 hours when I should have been working for what really was getting beat by a team that was just not good. Edit just better than us. Sorry it’s a long dark quiet road down 221 tonight and I’m kinda well

Re: Coastal discussion
For those keeping track, we're 1-1. Float/camping trip next weekend, should be nice with the leaves peaking.

Re: Coastal discussion
You do know this is a rebuilding year? We need to realize the landscape is not like it was. There’s money now and we don’t have it. NIL is real

Re: Coastal discussion
I’m not going to the GA State game like I had planned. I don’t want to see State’s first win against App. If changes aren’t made, these big crowds are going to dry up, because like you, they aren’t going to drive to come see a 4-8 team.mountaineerman wrote: ↑Tue Oct 10, 2023 10:14 pmI just drove 2 and 1/2 hours when I should have been working for what really was getting beat by a team that was just not good.

Re: Coastal discussion
Also, prime time nationally televised game and we shit the bed. Guess app fans are supposed to be happy that we beat ULM of all SB teams by 1 point but it only took a last second field goal to win. Bought $200+ of app apparel yesterday, tempted to burn it after todays performance. Coaches are basically more it less clowns

What the absolute hell are you talking about? This is Shawn Clark’s FOURTH YEAR. This team should be full of juniors and seniors HE recruited and they should be kicking ass. THAT AINT HAPPENING!

Re: Coastal discussion
I’m officially done with the coaching staff. I hate it as Clark loves this team and the university and I would absolutely love to have a coach stay for the long run and keep the momentum we have had, but he isn’t it. Every game, outside of UNC and A&M, we look unprepared and undisciplined. It’s sad to see where this program is at this point. We always start slow and when we finally decide to step it up, it’s too late. The fumble at the end was a huge play, but the slow start is what killed is and is what we seem to do time and time again. Enough is enough.

Re: Coastal discussion
We need up and coming coaches who plan to use us as a stepping stone. This staff is a disaster.
Clarks highest level should be OC or Oline Coach.
He is an interim coach who was made permanent status because of how everything went down with Eli.

Does Marshall and JMU have that much more NIL money? They've seemed to keep up and lead the way with the improvement of the Sun Belt.Boonegoon wrote: ↑Tue Oct 10, 2023 10:11 pmThe dollar these days. Clark is doing his best. We just don’t have the talent. Thought it during Wyoming, confirmed during ULM and tonight leaves no doubt. Our team is not good enough.

Re: Coastal discussion
Has anyone ever been demoted from HC to position coach on a staff? SC seemed like a pretty good o line coach. If everyone gets canned this year, we won’t get to see what Sloan can do after recruiting his own players.

Re: Coastal discussion
We will never have NIL quality support when we are more concerned about hiring "the next Jerry Moore" versus adapting to the new college landscape and winning while capitalizing on our national.brand recognition. That leverage we have as a G5 program is sinking quick- but I fear the "traditional" booster could give a rats ass.

This is what it looks like when you hire a bad head coach and he’s in year 4 with a roster of his players. I’ve seen this movie many times.
