I would take any school in MWC..the least favorite would be Fresno St. Not for team...just not a great city. If Fresno, I will be driving from Monterey or San Luis Obispo.

I think/hope this is sarcasm. I would rather play Furman than Rice or Tulsa.NattyBumppo'sRevenge wrote: ↑Thu Oct 12, 2023 11:01 amI hope it’s someone exciting like Rice or Tulsa

Although I do not want to play them given their offensive style that provide no benefit when playing other teams...only 45 minutes for me...be nice to experience the Navy GameDay experience.

If App were to play any service academy, I’d definitely go. Especially Army or Navy.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Thu Oct 12, 2023 3:23 pmAlthough I do not want to play them given their offensive style that provide no benefit when playing other teams...only 45 minutes for me...be nice to experience the Navy GameDay experience.

But, it's an hour away from Yosemite and 1.5 hours away from Kings Canyon/Sequoia and as you said the Monterrey Peninsula and the Inland Valley are both worth seeing.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Thu Oct 12, 2023 11:28 amI would take any school in MWC..the least favorite would be Fresno St. Not for team...just not a great city. We should schedule a series with Furman so we can work towards having a winning record against them.

Re: 2025 Football Schedule????
Cincinnati backed out of games with OHIO and Western Kentucky today. Both of those teams would make great home and Home series. I hope we are trying to line both of them up.

Re: 2025 Football Schedule????
As a fan, other than to go see my Mountaineers, why would I want to go to Western Ky or Ohio to see a game. I get we travel well. My hunch is that those would be less traveled roads so to speak...

Re: 2025 Football Schedule????
I'm sure our traveling contingent would be smaller than maybe normal for places like Bowling Green or Athens but I personally enjoy those types of trips. I actually really enjoy playing fellow G5 schools from other conferences. I love the possibility of going on the road and taking down a P5 but it's nice to have some "lower key" road trips on the schedule to peer schools. I've been to the Bowling Green area for a few long weekend trips and it's a really neat spot. Corvettes, Bourbon, Caves, pretty country...makes for a nice weekend trip without being too far away. I've actually never been to Athens, Ohio but heard it's a fun little college town. I'm sure I could find plenty of interesting places to stop and see on the way up and back and I'm sure they have some nice breweries around town, and again, easy drive.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Wed Oct 25, 2023 12:22 amAs a fan, other than to go see my Mountaineers, why would I want to go to Western Ky or Ohio to see a game. Now that I think about it some of my favorite App Football away weekends since the move up have been to G5 games at Akron and UMass. Really enjoyed both of those, aside from the loss at UMass. I'd definitely be down for more G5 games in 1-and-1 situations. In no particular order, drive-able G5 games that I'd like (because I know I like the towns or would like to see the towns and stadiums): Memphis, UAB, WKU, Buffalo, Western Michigan, Temple, & Tulane. More flyable trips I'd like to see: Boise, SMU, Tulsa, UTEP, Colorado St, Nevada, and SDSU.

Ohio would be fun. Their school "brung it" to the inaugural AppState bowl in Montgomery. I would like to see their game day atmosphere. I wouldn't mind adding them to the Sunbelt. They have fans.

They "brung it" until they didn't. Their number 88 was dancing and taunting his way into the locker room at halftime but left the stadium with his tail between his legs.spacemonkey wrote: ↑Thu Oct 26, 2023 1:11 pmOhio would be fun. Re: 2025 Football Schedule????
I meant their fans. The game was awesome but they had a legit fan base. Best pregame and in game opposing fan base we have been up against at a bowl game.appfanjj wrote: ↑Thu Oct 26, 2023 2:07 pmThey "brung it" until they didn't.
