One of the larger crowds in stadium history.

A bowl game in the UNCC stadium? The loser of a bowl game should not end up 6-7. Too many games.
What on earth does the ODU coach say? Well we played hard and choked.

Second Sun Belt team to lose a bowl game in overtime to a C-USA team this year. Pretty pathetic really, especially considering they had a 28-0 lead at one point. Sun Belt currently 1-3 in bowls with App being the lone winner.

Terrible start to bowl season, GS lays an egg to a much depleted MAC team. ODU and ULL lose to mediocre CUSA teams (WKU had almost as many portal hits as Ohio).
The SBC is not an easy conference commercials are in jeopardy.

Let's hope the remaining 8 can do an about face. Not looking like the best G5 conference right now. I know bowls aren't necessarily the best measuring stick but its hard to make the claim based on the first four games.

We were favored in all four of those I believe and favored in five of the eight remaining. Need to .500.

APP is the only bright spot so far in the best G5 and powerful SBC I've been hearing about all season? And we beat their backups...lol Damn, we lover own brand.

The conference struggling so far in bowl games? I blame it on those SBC public service announcements, you know, "rise up" and all that?
Probably time to shelve those. Not just because of the bad reverse juju...mostly because they're cringeworthy.

Re: Sunbelt bowl games scores
The bowl performances have been disappointing so far (other than App) but we haven't exactly seen the top half of the group playing yet (again other than App). I thought ODU was a long shot, but blowing a 28 point lead is just sad. GS was definitely a disappointment and I don't know how UL could let Jax State beat them. Very disappointing.

Yeah, imagine the punch in the face when the teams entered that "stadium" for the first time.
Prolly gave some of them flashbacks...I imagine some of them played in High School stadiums larger than that one.
To your point, the size of the stadium was actually a benefit since it made the crowd look somewhat larger.

Re: Sunbelt bowl games scores
Do some of these games and records of teams show the depth of our team? While others faded over the last 5-6 or so games we got better. A few have absolutely imploded in their bowl games. I agree with the assessment of a few of you- if we played in normal conditions we would have blown out Miami. Those passes in the flats where our guys slipped would have been catches.
Losing to ODU was absolutely our worst loss.
My son and I went to that App game at Charlotte years ago. Even though it's a glorified high school field it is kind of quaint.

I hope that is our losing to Liberty in 2014. Where we can look back and be, for the lack of a better word, thankful for that loss.Bigdaddyg1 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2023 7:36 amDo some of these games and records of teams show the depth of our team? It shows the higher quality of conditioning, coaching, players and culture. It would be really is to give up after losing to Troy and to play in weather like that but all of those factors showed.Bigdaddyg1 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2023 7:36 amDo some of these games and records of teams show the depth of our team? It also shows in the portal situation for us at the moment. Graduating players allowed to play in the bowl shows loyalty and respect while players sticking around like Joey shows that there is more to our program than others. It speaks to the quality of the people at all levels.
