And the PF Freshman coming in from Covenant Day. If we can hold onto Abson Spillers and Huntley, along with those 3 joining the lineup...whew. That is some SIZE.Bigdaddyg1 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 01, 2024 9:54 amIf he comes back that is huge especially with the big we have stored on the bench. Does the redshirt rule apply in basketball as it does in football? I.E. can a guy play in X number of games and save the year?

If the team were to go on a run, win the Sun Belt regular season and tournament championships before winning an NCAA Tournament final, the bonuses would add up to $180,000.
Read this on line. So he has to win the regular season, conference tournament AND the NCAA championship for $180k?

Take it a step further, if a coach were good enough to keep App at the top of the conference and winning a few games in the NCAA's. How good would they need to do to significantly turn the revenue so our program could pay them. What would it take?Bigdaddyg1 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 01, 2024 2:58 pmIf the team were to go on a run, win the Sun Belt regular season and tournament championships before winning an NCAA Tournament final, the bonuses would add up to $180,000.

Not since Cremins have we lost a basketball coach to a major conference team. Obviously if he is offered an ACC, Big East, Big Ten, SEC team, good for him. All I am saying is that he has done a fantastic job and keeping him here rather than off to a mid major is something the athletic's department should be focused on.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 01, 2024 2:38 pmIf a P5 comes calling, there isn’t much we can do.appgrad95&97 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 01, 2024 2:18 pmTHIS is why keeping Kerns is absolutely essential.311neers wrote: ↑Fri Mar 01, 2024 11:04 amBummer, we still have him for 3 years! I'm sure that list is very short of the successful lower (paying) mid majors who turned down opportunities to double, triple, quadruple or quintuple their salaries just because they love where they are. The former Davidson coach was possibly one. How many more can someone name? There has to be a criteria of maybe $500k base salary a year.

Obviously, Mark Few. My point is we shouldn't loose Kerns to a mid major.

Woah. Bold time to switch up the lineup. Abson off the bench? Must be a super athletic and fast Ark State team.
Maybe Senior Night for Huntley to start.

Crowd is filling in and looks great. Just have to finish these bunnies at the rim and we will be fine!

I really enjoyed the human interest piece ESPN ran at halftime spotlighting the team, Coach Kerns and #takethestairs.

Shooting better from 30’ than we are from 3’. Missing a ton at the rim and still up. Need to hit those close ones to keep a solid lead.

Kind of a dumb timeout but go ahead and burn them.

We are up big and cannot hit a layup to save our lives. Have to start hitting the easy shots though. Keep attacking!

The eternal question between the unstoppable force (offense) and immovable object (defense) has been settled today and decided for the immovable object.
This is my very generic signature added to each post.
