Boone Mall Parking

Unread post by dlh71 » Fri Oct 18, 2013 10:13 am

We usually meet family for lunch at the Boone Mall and then ride together to our parking spot at the River St. deck. This past Saturday they were approached by someone from Mountaineer Towing and said their car would be towed. When did this change take place? I thought you could get a shuttle from the mall? I have not nor have I seen anyone tailgating there so I do not know what the issue is. I guess it is one less parking option if you are meeting other people.

with so little gameday parking in Boone, I also would like to know why you cant park anymore at the Mall, there is plently of parking for both the Mall crowd and the football crowd, and you guys aren't interfering with any Mall activities.

How do they determine whether someone is parking to go to the game or,instead.shopping the mall?

Nothing like a business that misses the $ while worried about the cents.

As big as lot as they have, I'd advertise free tailgating and transport to the game so the shops in the mall could pick up some extra business before and after the game! I bet food and drink places could sell food in the lot and the sports store could have crazy business.

Sounds like a good idea, but it would seem many of the shoppers would not relish going through a bevy of tailgaters who were guzzling the sauce and some even making fools of themselves, especially if opponents' tailgaters were mixed in the congregation.

I don't see why they would care as long as folks park on the outer fringes of the lot.

Good point, but I wonder who would keep up with assigning spaces and keeping out the poachers as well as making sure the tailgaters stayed parked on the fringes? Someone would have to clean up the trash upon the "gaiters" leaving.

They shouldn't have to allow tailgating. It should just be for folks to park and ride.

This sounds for whatever reason an overreaction by the mall administration, every time I've gone to this mall probably 60 percent of the parking lot is not being used, and the mall is is dead, personally not sure how they stay in business, you would think they would love to have the tailgaters and try and find a way for them to spend money in the mall.

It could be done either way, but all the negatives could be worked out and if I was mall management and I could get people into the mall or take the mall out to the parking area I'd do almost anything I could.

Like someone said there are plenty of empty spaces. While $10 per space doesn't seem like much, it would pay for cleaning the lot after and there are several stores that could make a killing selling stuff. How many times to ppl which they had another t-shirt, hoodie, gloves, etc. Food places could bring out all sorts of stuff.
