I apologize to you all for making another pointless post.

BTW, it was Varsity Gym instead of Broome Kirk, but I saw several concerts in old Broome Kirk. In the years I was at App in Varsity we saw . Dionne Warwick, The Association, Union Gap, Johnny Mathis (twice) The Lettermen, Four Seasons, Four Tops, Drifters et al. all free with the student ID

I remember seeing Firefall sometime around 1978 or 1979. I'm thinking there was a second band that played that same night but can't remember the name.

I may be wrong, but Stevie Wonder may have appeared. Either there or at the old Colliseum.

I know for certain Doc Watson appeared at convocation every year when they used old BK. Doc had just got back from a US State Department sponsored tour of Africa my freshman year. Dayum, I miss those old days of relative innocence in our society....at least compared to today.

I lived in Huey Dorm sophomore and junior years. Talk about great being a stumble away from a fun club. Greatest idea to bring in your own six pack, check it in and then given a punch card. Lots of fun at Happy’s- I forgot the name!
I saw the Indigo Girls there, and others. The IGs are the only act I can remember. Pretty sure that venue was a Harris Teeter grocery store when I arrived in Boone in 1983.

Yep just remembered that it was a HT. They moved it across King and it was in the same building as that health food store now. My memory of the second HT was the day after the beer and wine vote passed. The beer guy could not stock the fridge fast enough.

I do recall a Loverboy cover band playing at the Happy’s. Pretty fun and place during the dry county era as the weekends were a ghost town.

I was wondering if anybody was going to bring up Rally Weekend. What a time!
