K Bryant will be holding our back up QB's clipboard next year(2014 3rd string). This kid just isnt a D1 QB. Doesn't have a big arm. Not super elusive and has fumbling and hand off issues. You cant win consistently with the lack of tools.

He was 32-40 for 307 yards. It's hard to pin the blame on him. Though I agree he does need to handle the ball better and make the effort to go north and south more.

This team is not going to be successful if we try to put together long, sustained drives. We are not fundamentally sound enough to do that without a turnover or a stupid penalty.

Not looking for an argument but its not very hard to go 32-40 when the ball rarely travels more than six yards past the line of scrimmage. Accuracy issues were prevalent last week whenever he tried anything over 10 yards and his what 4 fumbles today 2 or 3 were lost. This all against a sub par socon squad.

KB is also playing centerfield with the snaps. Doesn't help.

No arguments...I said he needs to go more north and south and less east and west.

1 - the spread offense depends on a dual threat quarterback. A healthy Jamal is a dual threat. Kam can be a dual threat but doesn't have a strong enough arm ... yet.
2 - for a quarterback to be a true dual threat he has to have enough time to see the passing options and decide to take off running. Kam doesn't get much time ... yet.
3 - we have a wide receiver bunch that is truly top notch. Part of what has made them so is the uncertainty created by a well-run spread. Our wide receivers haven't been a threat so much this year (see 1 and 2)
4 - Kam has the ability to be very good. He just isn't there ... yet.

So, our offense was designed around a dual threat quarterback who could hit wide receivers all over the place. That quarterback has not recovered from knee surgery. Enter Plan B ... or C ... or D. Kam is not Jamal V.2012. Of course, Jamal V.2013 is not Jamal V.2012 either.

I'm no more patient than any of you. I also love to win. That said, I can be patient all day long with kids who are giving their all. Yes, I believe they are. Just wait ... don't give up on the players or the coaches this year or next. I'll be in the stands next week and hope all of you will join me.

He also can't throw the deep ball...but i would like to see our offence get back to completing short passes all over the field and running after the catch..over the past few years we have leaned on the deep ball

Is he getting time enough to throw the deep ball? I've only seen him twice, so I don't know.

He can't do it. That is why Satterfield took so long to make the switch. Go back and listen to post game first couple losses. Even before the first game I remember his comments about Kam were he needed to work on throwing the ball down field. Having criticized Kam I will also say he has looked excellent throwing the 8 to 10 yard curl or slant type routes. Especially when we go hurry up. It is beyond me why we don't do more of that. It kills me to watch them drain every stinkin second of the play clock almost every down. I think I remember Scott saying Kam makes better decisions when they slow it down though.

Someone posted the other day the biggest reason we are losing this year is the QB transition. When I read it the first time I thought it was bunk. But the more I consider this I believe it is true. He doesn't distribute the ball very well, can't throw long and at times puts too much air under the ball setting receivers up for the big hit (see Malachi in Samford game). But again I think he can win and has done very well given the circumstances.

I think it open auditions for QBs next year...and defensive backs,...and defensive ends... and offensive linemen....and wide receivers.......etc.

I was thinking the same thing. Coach needs to go into camp with the idea that every position is up for grabs.

With the number of new recruits that will come up the mountain plus redshirt freshman who know they can compete, every position WILL be up for grabs.

Yes Kam was 32-40, but it doesn't tell the whole story. He can't throw sidelines routes, can't throw deep balls plus the fumble issues.

That worries me the most. You can change a offense to take advantage of the QB . You might teach a QB when to throw and when not to. But it's really hard to teach a QB how to hang onto a ball.
