The combination of 8th in 3rd down conversions and 9th in 3rd down defense are the most troubling. These two will add up to more losses if one or the other isn't corrected.

I agree with YAC, those two 3rd down stats are the most troubling. Also keep in mind that many of our Socon brethren have inflated stats with a DII game under their belt. Hopefully the coaches can get the 3rd down kinks worked out.

Most of these stats are undesirable!

We are really on the backside of the mountain.

These stats certainly are not pretty. However, I'm not too concerned about the stats given our tough 3 game schedule so far versus the schedules of other SoCon squads which include the likes of WV State, Lincoln, Mars Hill, Glenville State, etc. I think we will learn much about this year's squad this Saturday on the road against a solid UTC squad. Hopefully our team starts its turnaround and then the stats will follow.

I think these stats are very telling. If we were anything remotely like our teams of the past, we wouldn't be bottom of the pickle barrell. Like you I hope things are turned around this weekeend.

Concerns of no depth in the offensive backfield at all positions and no effort to get your next years horse ready to go this year. Huesmann and all other opponents can look at our film and see our QB is hurt, we have limitations at RB, our play calling reflects this as well- Satterfields hands are tied atm.

8 or so returning defensive starters mauled by The Citadel and giving up what seems almost every 3rd down and long plays to the FCS teams. The 3 picks saved us against Montana. Was Dale Jones part of The Committee that stayed? I haven't ever really ridden his case, but these stats are telling. That many defensive starters returning shouldn't be a rebuilding year.

I keep reading on this board and other places referring to Jackson as being hurt. Has there been any official confirmation of that in print somewhere? Just wordering....

Nothing, because of the privacy laws. By watching him play, do you think he is 100%?

ASU defense is also giving up 38 pts/game avg.

I don't care who you are playing, that is a serious concern.
