This loss is not going to cause a coaching change. What follows might. Expectations were set high. Need to get there or pretty darn close. Beat EZU!

Never. Kick me from the boards for pointing out the obvious but I'm an App fan for life.
I love App State football. I believe strongly that Shawn Clark is not the guy who should be leading our program.
Look at what we did with Drink for one year. Shawn has had five and we just got bent over by #25.

While I agree, any team that has been rumored to “be the year” cannot give up 700+ yards of offense and 66 points. You have to try real hard to do that.

Reminder, Clark’s buyout is only $500k and $250k Jan 1st 2025. Fire him and this staff Jan 1st. It’s obvious he’s not the guy. I hear Watauga High has a janitor position available starting end of January he’d be perfect for.AppDub wrote: ↑Sat Sep 07, 2024 11:05 pm2026falcoapp wrote: ↑Sat Sep 07, 2024 11:03 pmBecause other teams are better.app_gorilla wrote: ↑Sat Sep 07, 2024 11:01 pmDoes anyone have an answer for this? Side note, when does Clarks contract expire out of curiosity?

100%. This was bad but I want to see how we rebound. I knew the OL would need time to gel. We got a long way to go but what do you feel is the minimum we should do this year?

Not shocked. Someone from the G5 is going undefeated and if they beat Oregon it could be them. I know that nobody is eliminated but a win tonight for Boise will put them in the drivers seat over all other G5s if they keep winning. I am interested to see if they hold their lead.

Yeah. Offense never even had time to kick ir into gear before they were in "press mode". Hard to judge performance of an offense when they know they have zero room for error.

Dabo baptized Clark tonight and never let his head back up above water. Plain and simple. Humbling experience for us all.

Re: Clemson game thread and discussion
One positive for me from last night...or maybe a confirmation....the color combination of orange and purple as part of your school colors is hideous...

You win and lose games in the trenches. It has been and will always be in football. Going into the game, I thought running the ball would be very difficult and it was. We did not get an pressure on the QB. 2 had all day to throw. I did not believe Clemson was as bad as portrayed after the Gawgia game. Neither was I picking us preseason favorites for the sbc given OL and not as confident on DL as some others. Cautiously optimistic, yes. I thought we would be in the running for sbc ...hope we still do
Questionable call- the WR pass play on a short field. We have done something like this on I think on at least 3 occasions last year and this year. If you fool a D on this type of play, you can make up for mistake given short field. It has not worked I do not believe when ran each time. I am not sure if Ponce thought process here
Move on to the next one.
Let's take our sorrows out on EasyU
I will see y'all in Gville.

Re: Clemson game thread and discussion
It's a one off game, Clemson will be top 5 by seasons end....calm down - they had them on two 3rd downs and DB's had mental breakdowns, you can't win the game in the 1st quarter but you sure as hell can lose it.
The more alarming thing and Ive harped on it for a few years now,
The September schedule the AD has put before #TEAMCLARK the last 3 Septembers '22 - '23' '24 has been first class unjust and unfair. The man has zero feel at being able to piece a schedule together in order to help make his program look better..
Ya"ll will dispute me but I am 110% correct on this...cupcakes need to be in place between P5 and rivalry's

I’ve bled Black & Gold since 1988. But let’s be honest: you’re getting way too upset here. Because at the end of the day, it’s just a game. Let me say that again…at the end of the day, it is just a game.app_gorilla wrote: ↑Sun Sep 08, 2024 12:32 amapp_gorilla wrote: ↑Sun Sep 08, 2024 12:29 amLet's just go 6-6 in the Sunbelt again!!!!

It’s OK to be frustrated and we recognize you have no faith in Clark as our HC.
But hating on the players like that? These are 18-21 year old KIDS. How would you like for some stranger to call your kid names? You’re better than that, man!

Re: Clemson game thread and discussion
The pearl clutching and irrational expectations are a bit much. The talent disparity is glaring when we play teams like Clemson. 4/5 star kids vs 2/3 star kids frequently lead to blowouts.

Top 5 only because of their schedule. Good team, not great.
