I was at that game, and I don't think the temperature ever got above 27 that day.
I don't have any video or photos from that game, but I did find a video that shows what happens when you live too close to Statesboro...posted this on another thread but just couldn't live with the possibility that oldfart didn't get a chance to see it.

I was there. I think the high temp was 18º that day. As cold as I can ever remember being at a game.

I was a student then. We got there early to chip ice off the bleachers. I was sitting next to the guy who got up and went after the GSU students who spelled out ASU Sux in the snow. I remember Erk wearing shorts as cold as it was.

Can't make the trip this year, but I'll be rooting for my Eagles via ESPN3. Weird season for both could make for an interesting game, or a blowout. Cheers to no more injuries!

I remember App State was a pretty big team back then. Unfortunately we didn't have a lot of big guys because we relied on speed and quickness. Of course there was none of it that day. I can't begin to count the times we had a hole or seam and our guy would try to cut upfield and end up falling down for a loss. We were easy pickins' that day as App simply lined up and pushed our smaller guys backwards a few yards at a time. It was the worst loss I can remember because I always felt like we could have run circles around them on a regular field but it wasn't meant to be. Interestingly the field wasn't covered the night before...

I was only 9 at the time but I remember the ice all over the stands. The blankets we all brought to the stadium that day were used under our asses and it still didn't help. hahaha...

I've had great times in Boone even if I've only seen us win once there. Me and some friends went up in '99 but couldn't find a place to stay anywhere near there (that 3 college students could afford). We ended up bringing some tents and set up camp right in the middle of an open area near the stadium. By the time we woke up, all the Greeks were setting up their tailgates all around us. Had a couple of kind ASU students who let us in their dorm to take a shower that morning.

I was there as a student and love it......I remember the big "FIGHT" between GSU and ASU students on the hill as GSU put ASU sucks in the snow....
I remember that game. Man it was raw, Had an old ASU buddy come up from Florida that day in kahkis and topsiders, no sox. Polo shirt and a non-lined windbreaker. He spent a lot of time at the coffee line and in the bathroom. We laughed at his blue lips all day. Almost made him go sit with the blue team.
Remember that fight too. those heathens. I believe the score was .....

I hope the GSU fans coming to Boone don't bring their swing set with them to tailgate...

Heads up = There are reports of inbred Rednecks that have been spotted heading to Boone from southern Georgia area. A definite stink smell has been noticed coming up from the south. Lock up your livestock! (especially all sheep & goats).

For a variety of reasons I don't use 'hate' to describe my feelings for anyone in life. As far as college football goes, I respect MOST of our foes and App State is one of them.

I hope all of our Eagle faithful who made the trip have a blast and cheer us on to a victory.

A trip to Boone will soon become our biannual mountain weekend trip with our move to the Sunbelt. I'll mist the trip to Highlands, NC and the ride to the 'Whee. Looking forward to some good times in the mountains near/at Boone

Go Eagles!! I predict 31-17 GSU wins.

Modern GS history. Is that when you got indoor plumbing at Paulson?
