We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Re: Combs, Church and Taylor
People are upset because Church wore UNC garb at the show? Seriously?
If Cole Swindell showed up and played wearing a Georgia Southern baseball cap, I doubt anyone would've have cared less.
In a time where people are becoming more selfish and politically polarized, we've witnessed so many folks pull together for the good of folks in WNC. And we're blessed that some really big stars got involved and made this happen in very short order, which wasn't easy to do.
Some of y'all need to relax on this Church thing.

Re: Combs, Church and Taylor
Anyone going after him for some UNC gear is an insecure little b**** and should be referred to as such any time they bring it up.
Avery County resident Eric Church announced that his organization Chief Cares is committing to build at least "100 homes in Avery County and the surrounding area" through an initiative called Blueprint for the Blue Ridge.

Finally got some sleep after the show. One thing that I loved to see was how many App faithful and App supporters showed up. You couldn't even walk back and forth to the bathroom without someone else yelling App State or giving you a fist bump if you had App gear on...which of course I did. I even heard the App...State chant break out. A lot of good was done there last night by these guys and gals. Give Church a break. He loves his state and the mountains. Whether he loves App State or not, he loves the people in and around that area. I have a new respect for him. Now Scotty Mcreery who named almost every D1 school in the state but App when asking who fans pulled for, he may be dead to me. Just saying.

Just to be clear, I believe the comment about Luke wearing a hat with a blue symbol on it was sarcasm. I don't know what it was but it didn't look like a UNC thing. He had an App jersey on stage with him and spoke fondly several times about his attending App. He is a strong Mountaineer and has tons of App references in many of his music videos.appstatealum wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2024 11:46 pmWho cares about them. Yes, sarcasm. I assumed it may be something related to Panthers..but provided an opportunity for some humor..just having fun with people who get their panties in a wad over a famous alum who sports fandom is with another team ..Rick83 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 27, 2024 9:21 amJust to be clear, I believe the comment about Luke wearing a hat with a blue symbol on it was sarcasm. Maybe it is just me. I do not give Church or Combs much, if any thought, unless one of their songs come on the radio and those thoughts are typically about the song and it's contents....but over the past couple of years.... another thought does come to mind when a Church plays on Spotify...I start laughing as my thoughts transitions to Yosef Cabin and people who have issues with someone they have probably never met and someone who (not that I am aware) has not said anything disparaging about App. St. or his time at App. St.
It is humorous to me. It is what it is

Re: Combs, Church and Taylor
Spot on. I'm not a huge fan of Eric Church's music but really don't get too wound up about his sports allegiance, although he does have App references in his Nashville bar (along with UNC references). Luke is my favorite artist of all time and is a huge App guy, sometimes sarcasm is misinterpreted and false beliefs and rumors get started. So, I wanted to point out the sarcasm. It was an amazing feat for Luke and Eric to pull off a show like that, with all of those artists, in like 28 days. They are both NC home boys who are doing great things.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Sun Oct 27, 2024 9:39 amYes, sarcasm. Re: Combs, Church and Taylor
Incredible event. Important to remember they didn’t have to do this. They came running in WNC’s darkest hour. Props to all the entertainers for making it happen.
I went to AC Reynolds, as did Luke, Chase Rice, and Caleb Pressley. Luke and Caleb are younger than me, but Chase and I were really good friends all through school. I played ball with Chase, we both played for Bryan Craig, who he shouted out at the concert. Coach Craig and folks from Craigtown that he mentioned are incredible people. Just an unimaginable tragedy for that family.
Have met Luke and he’s an incredible guy. Extremely humble, absolutely loves App State, the Panthers, and WNC. The most down to earth humble superstar you will ever meet. Do I love that Eric Church pushes us aside for that god awful baby blue?? Hell no! But I’m giving him a pass this time.
The impacts of this concert are going to be massive. $24,500,000, 100 new homes for folks in Avery County, and this is only the beginning.
Proud to know these dudes and to call them friends. The only thing we should be doing right now, is thanking them for this event. Proud to be from WNC! #MountainStrong

Best concert I have ever been to! First time we have ever left an App State Football game early, but had to get to CLT. Thank you Luke Combs & Eric Church! App State Nation was well represented there last night (thru this morning).
It's Great to be a Mountaineer!

Re: Combs, Church and Taylor
Agree ..one of the best concerts. The idea of having Church coming out periodically versus he and Luke having two separate long sessions was a great idea. It just flowed well.
Although his voice has seen better days, enjoyed seeing James Taylor.
It has been 15 to 20 years since I have seen him live... he gave his best as hell know he has had vocal issues over the past several years
Glad that Randy Travis made an appearance given health.

Now those of you who chose a concert over a home football game (not the ones who did both, you're excused) need to get your behinds to Boone this coming Saturday to atone and cheer yourselves hoarse.

No Heels gear. Not proof. Also standing and cheering while the holes are all sitting. Could be cheering for the opposition. Gotcha, and it was amazing that the Teppers donated the cost of the concessions even, so that every sale went directly to the relief effort.BUTCH1991 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 27, 2024 1:38 pmIt was a Panthers hat. Keep in mind regardless of where you went to school, if you are from NC you are a Tarheel in the general sense. I don’t live in NC anymore nor have I for most of my life now but I am a Tarheel for life. Not a UNC Tarheel but a Tarheel. For an event like this there is an element that this event was to help the Tarheel state.
I don’t care about what Eric does but I understand he still contributes a lot to App even while liking UNC athletics and supporting them. I understand you wish he was App state first but I don’t get the animosity towards him.

Re: Combs, Church and Taylor
Here is the rub - not directed to you personally, but he tried and did use App as a marketing stepping stone early in his career and in the past and something happened and now he is raising money for Chapel Hill, no doubt about it, effectively he has turned on App, maybe the admin turned on him, who knows. People say he has a suite at App but I can't imagine he still does. Maybe he did give or gives to the University, anybody got some current proof? We complain about not having enough NIL money and Church is out there basically not helping the school he went to, that is a negative gain for App - he could help and isn't for some reason. There are so many ins and outs and who knows but optics show he is not for App anymore. If you were at the concert or watched Combs touted App - said App at least 5 times, he said App to Church's face about coming up in the biz and motivation and such, Church did not respond - probably was not the time, just accepting the accolades from Combs but damn, someone prove us wrong about what Eric Church is doing for App in the last 5 years before the Hurricane? Also he mentioned "Avery County Resident" you can take the several ways but is a multi-million dollar home in a high end gated community where you spend some time to, a true "resident" yes he pays property taxes and supports his high end locations, but I don't think you will see him at the polls in Avery County casting a vote as a resident?AtlAppMan wrote: ↑Sun Oct 27, 2024 2:24 pmKeep in mind regardless of where you went to school, if you are from NC you are a Tarheel in the general sense. Side note congrats to the entire effort of all in volved and Church's continue efforts - 100 homes.
And I live in Boone if folks want to attack my residency.

Re: Combs, Church and Taylor
Unbelievable that anyone would be worried about either of these guys wearing or not wearing App gear. Combs and Church put together a show that to date raised over $25mil to help the people of western NC. Church committed to building 100 houses in western NC. And the whole thing was a really good time. It was something that was nothing but GOOD. And they are saying that pretty much everything spent on the show is actually going to the folks in western NC. Tepper donated the stadium, the labor to open it, the concessions and even paid the sales tax. Most if not all of the parking companies donated the money and Gildan donated all sells from concert shirts. Bottom line these guys did a wonderful thing! Just say thanks.
