Ive supported SC for a long time but I'm done now. He's gotten everything he wants and had 5 years. I'll agree to letting him finish the year out but that's it.

I also don't want to hear about $ being any issue. We make more money on ticket sales alone than any other SB school and they are figuring it out. Add the donations, NIL and all the other upsides we have compared to the rest of the Belt and it shouldn't be a hard sell.

And for those that are gonna talk about academics, expectations and whatever else as detractors for a coach can shut up. I don't want to hear it.

Are we though? This game was defined by not picking up blocks, missing tackles, and mistakes. We got smoked by a team who straight up wanted it more tonight. Are we giving true App State effort or are we just going through the motions?

They might be “giving effort,” but it’s not good effort. We used to have o-linemen who gleefully blocked guys into their bench.

How much of the game last night hinged on god awful throws/decisions by Joey? I am by no means putting everything at his feet because he doesn’t play defense and he can’t block for himself but when you have a couple of dudes pulling you down and zero receivers close and you are in FG range pull the ball down and eat it. We were fortunate that at least two other horrible throws didn’t get picked off. The defense started playing well in the second half but you can’t just give the ball away.

Really screwed this program over winning so much. If we had hired Clark and gone 8-5 in 2019 everything would be better!

We are incredibly painful to watch. While I am hesitant to toss coaches under the bus, all explanations lead back to them. Our guys look slow, small and with exceptions appear to have little fight in them or they are just not very good.

On defense, 3rd and five our backs play ten yards off the receivers. On options we don't cover the back or QB on virtually every play. They miss tackles, can't get off blocks, don't zoom to the ball very well and take horrible pursuit angles. The guys on the front three are beasts but everything else looks like crap.

On offense, the defense seems to know the play we are running every time. Pass plays and run plays seem to require extraordinary catches or effort from the running back for anything positive to happen. Without Marshall and KRob we'd be lucky to get a first down.

Pass route package seem to have no rub routes, crossovers or staggered depth (long short middle). Our guys hardly ever get open. I don't notice any pulling linemen or misdirection at all, no real option plays or run pass options. If we are running them they are not being executed or I can't see them through the tears.

What I can't tell is if we just don't have the players or the coaches haven't developed them or the coches are utilizing what we have.Whatever it is, it's ugly and painful.

Bubba, you nailed it. Great analysis! I agree. I cannot tell if it’s poor football players or if it poor coaching. Now we have to decide what to do about it. I suspect we will lose about half the team at years’ end , for any number of reasons. Going to be hard to fill a roster with high school players and apparently we are not good at the portal game.

In all fairness, you can't put your team down 3 scores out of the gate either. Definitely changes the level of pressing a QB does when playing from behind. D is the biggest problem we have next to coaching.
