Funny for a second but then it got ridiculous and dangerous…especially coming off 2nd level east side…hitting fans below. I’ll go one step further…some of the students need to learn how to handle their liquor and stop being dickheads. Screaming “fuck jmu” after the game to their fans walking out is pretty low class. I mean, wtf?! Win with dignity and show respect. To me and others seems to be that a lot of these students are buying these headbanger high gravity beers and then start acting a fool. Keep your shit together or don’t drink. It’s that damn easy. And don’t come at me telling me to lighten up…we aren’t ga southern so let’s not get a reputation of being like them. I’ve partied hard in my life so I’m not being holier than thou…I just know there’s a right way to act and a wrong way…what I saw tonight from a few idiots was over the line.
I have to agree. 100% Make the rock the hardest place to play but no need show your ass.
And I didn’t get to talk to Santa but maybe next year.

It really has turned into am NFL atmosphere and it makes me sad. App football used to be a pretty wholesome experience. Cursing in public bothers me, but I have very little respect for most of Americans lately. Me, Me,Me is the US now. Public intoxication is against the law as well (I Think) we have turned it into a profit center for the university. NOW GET OFF MY LAWN!!!!

I had no problem with the snowballs at JMU for their entrance as JMU tore down the last net on the ramp.. if they didn't do that, they aren't in the open getting snowballs thrown at them!
But, getting them on the field during play is just stupid. Not necessarily a safety risk but stupid and no room for it.

I will accept the snowballs are bad and we should feel bad for throwing them the second JMU accepts that streamers are bad and should feel bad for throwing them.

I agree with you 100% on the F chants. But, it’s become a generational norm. Happened in Miami walking out post game. Happens all game at Coastal in 22 and 24. Our drunk students (a minority) have been berating opposing team’s fans on the walk towards River Street on occasion the last few years, to the point of pushing and officers getting involved.

I do think we have an amazing student section and was proud of them showing up and being loud. They sounded great on TV. It’s the best in the Sun Belt.

We were at Clemson this year and I never heard one single person say anything derogatory about App. I’m sure every school has young jerks who can’t handle their liquor but we seem to have many that stick out. I’m also sure that even JMU has adult respectable fans who don’t lose their minds over sports and don’t yell insults or profanity at us. Agree it’s embarrassing

Appalachian students are not any different from any other student body. College kids having fun at the expense of others. This is on the administration. Piled up snow around the visiting teams entrance. What could go wrong???
We got to listen to Kelsey speak to the students at midfield during halftime and yet our own Armanti Edwards on his College Football Hall of Fame recognition at ASU was a corner of the end zone. What a disgrace!
The game day folks who are in charge should be ashamed and fired or moved to another position.

Silly comparison. Just a lame excuse.

OTOH, Miller Hill can provide both quality entertainment as well as relief from the sun.

It's allll fun and games until someone loses an eye.
They aren't kids though. It's funny how adults ages 18-22 are kids when we try to make excuses for their piss poor behavior, but are adults when it's time to fight a war, vote, buy cigarettes, get jobs, get married, and literally any other aspect of life. It also only happens when those 18-22 year olds being referenced are in college. Funny....because I tend to notice the exact same type of people who do this are the same ones that complain about a generation of spoiled entitled brats....
As far as the snowball thing. Let's change the setting. If the same group of people were hitting passing walkers on a street from both close up and from windows on a second level they would get arrested.....but of course we are dealing with the privilaged here so they get cheered instead.

I saw this man in the crowd on tv throwing multiple snowballs. The university needs to have this addressed immediately.

Let the kids have fun
The snowballs were hilarious to see in person
That is not a universal opinion. I and most folks around me didn't see any humor at all.

The lady in the hadicap seating who got hit didn't think it was so funny.
Talk about a lawsuit! Oftentimes snowballs end up hard as ice and students aren’t always using their best judgment on game days. Not being soft but using common sense.

Very disappointed watching our students throwing snowballs at JMU team as they emerged from tunnel, and continuing to throw snowballs throughout the game on the field and even at our own cheerleaders. I hope the university and Coach Clark publicly address this unsportsmanlike behavior. Not a good look for our university.
I'm more concerned with the F#@& JMU chants than the snowballs.
I think both are great
I don't enjoy my six year old daughter listening to that. Our fans used to have more class than this. Never heard that in KBS until the past few years.
We don't want to be like Coastal and GS.
I’ll take some flack for this I’m sure but everything has escalated some what since Alcohol was sold in the stadium. Yes I realize they brought it in before. But it’s sold in mass amounts brought to the student section and given to underage . That should be enforced better but it is not.
