Does Marshall even have a team to play in their Bowl game? This is beyond insane now. I think I read that there are over 3,000 players in the portal? If you take 130 teams times 85 players that’s approximately 11k. So close to a third of active rosters are trying to move?

Man did Jack increase his value in 1 year at App. Not playing at VT to bulldozing. Example of a recruiting success to show future recruits in a new world?

He sure did. I was telling someone the week before the All-SBC teams came out that he is probably our only OL who would make All-SBC and I felt it would be 2nd or 3rd team. Not use to being shut out the 1st team OL. We had Samuel picked HM but that is selected by our coach and not voted by piers. If you notice every team gets 4 for honorable mention. I wish they would adjust and have a voting total cut off to be listed as HM instead of just having coaches pick their own players for it. I would be curious to have seen how many players we had that would have been close to actually making the 3rd team. My guess is just 1-2 max.

How did the AD botch it. It is my understanding that Huff was offered extensions that he turned down. The prevailing thought was that his wife didn’t like Huntington so that why he didn’t extend. Can’t blame that on the AD.

I'd rather live in Hattiesburg than Huntington. Just my take.

Sometimes people get jobs because they get pushed out of their current situation. Huff maybe one example. DL maybe another. Shula got a promotion very quickly.

Scary thing about DL is he bounced around in the NFL as the OC and never had a QB with a very impressive QB Rating.

This this a fail up promotion.

With as poorly as the season went one would expect a bunch leaving. My concern is the better season we or any G5 has that increases players NIL value in the portal. So a championship season may wind up in same boat or worse losing talent.

The issue is the NCAA has no leg to stand o with this. Any move they make the courts would strike down or the big names of football would just breakaway from the NCAA.

Exactly. It is funny how the people who are the loudest are the ones who don't expect to actually write checks. Almost like some people like to light something on fire and just watch it burn for no reason. Those who pound the table the most for pay to play need to be the ones paying the majority of the money to them.
