We need higher paying degrees ASAP. More disposable income to donate and give.
Apparently that doesn’t help. Look at Wake Forest with all those doctors and lawyers as alumni. And they still don’t have great funding.
How many of those Doctors & Lawyers went to Undergrad at Wake? I have always been of the opinion, undergrad is where the passion for a university is established.

Have a very longtime Family Friend that did… but as he says he went to “Trade” School (law) at UNC. He holds zero allegiance to chapel hill. Their support goes to Wake.
I agree, undergrad holds the passion of most fans. I barely even follow my post graduate school even though it is where I met my wife and started my family. App holds all my passion.
Honestly when I look at the landscape of College sports I honestly think the field is leveling. All the so called big schools are dealing with the same thing only at a higher level. I think we’ll be fine.
My friend the gap between P4 and G5 has NEVER been WIDER,

In fact the GAP between the SEC/BIG10 against the ACC & Big 12 has never been wider!!

Why do you think FSU and Clemson want out of the ACC.

So some believe that the route for App to have taken was to pay a DC $1m so he’d haul in $2.2m total and report to our HC who is making less than half (with bonuses)? Yeah that’s a desperate move.

Vegas may have had something to offer that Boone doesn't have.
I love Boone but man Vegas is awesome.
Vegas is cool, but after 3-4 days, I can’t wait to leave.

Honestly, if we did get Arnett, it would have been almost impossible to keep him till the season started. Especially once the NFL changes cause another ripple effect.

Feels like Arnett was DLO’s moonshot, if he says yes… wow! If not option 2 is right there. Eager to see who it is. Still stings though!

GO APPS!!

Don’t believe he’d get his full buyout if he’s making $1mil elsewhere. That’s why typically fired coaches go to be consultants for a team like Alabama making $35k a year. They’re still getting paid millions from the previous school that is offset by salary from a new school. So if he’s paid $1mil here with $1.2mil buyout from Miss State, he’s only getting $200k from Miss state.

FSU just went 2-10.
Clemson just went 0-2 vs the SEC.

Probably best to stay in their lane if they want to win and have an easy path to playoff. If they want money, sure, leave.

Someone help me out here. I can't find anything saying that Arnett is officially signing a contract with App OR UNLV. All the articles just say "Arnett is in talks with App" and "UNLV is aggressively pursuing Arnett." I haven't seen anything official.

Looks like we are both pursuing Arnett. We probably assume their extra money will win.

Mr Craig, people here are throwing in the towel because Arnett’s choice is between a first time head coach in a small college town vs Dan Mullen, their shared Mississippi State connection, a brand new stadium and Las Vegas and they don’t think we stand a chance.

Other than living in Las Vegas, which I personally detest it’s a no-brainer. Now, if it was San Diego State, I’d say all the boxes are checked.

Just depends on the person, no way I'd want to live in either of those places.

Man, just give Arnett the best parking spot and a key to the executive wash room and let's get this thing done. No way he can turn down that deal.

Outside of the cost of living, San Diego is nice.

There are other reasons why someone wouldn't want to be there, just depends on the person. I've had a couple friends/family who lived/stationed there and they enjoyed the weather/town I believe.

My dad was stationed in SoCal when I was a kid and I still have “family” there. Agree that it’s not ideal for everyone but I enjoyed it.
