Yes. I think we might have another one who is going to commit pretty soon as well.

Anyone heard anything about KRob’s plans. Does he plan to take advantage of the JUCO ruling?

Given the nature of the injury, would he be 100% to play at beginning of the season or during the season. Medical technology and rehab have come a long ways...do not completely sure if the recovery time.appstate24 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 31, 2024 6:51 amAnyone heard anything about KRob’s plans. Re: App Transfer Portal 2025 - IN
With the increase in scholarships that schools can add along with the options to transfer at will it seems odd to still see any player with D1 ability to still play as a PWO. I say this as someone who knows little to nothing of the process but if any player is deemed good enough to be added as a PWO at App he seems like he could get a regular scholarship at at least a good FCS team- unless he (perish the thought) wants to have the academic experience in Boone.

No one should ever put down the academic experience one experiences in Boone. It is a unique experience that some consider a World Class Education. Just look at how competitive the programs are. Not being a research institution had its advantages for students to do things as undergraduates that only graduate and doctoral students get to do at those institutions. The weather alone is an experience like no other, which results in students that actually want to be there. The ones that do not, leave.Bigdaddyg1 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 31, 2024 9:15 amWith the increase in scholarships that schools can add along with the options to transfer at will it seems odd to still see any player with D1 ability to still play as a PWO. Not discounting your thought but I would be willing to bet that we have a bunch of scholarship players who get little to nothing in NIL money. But that’s just a complete guess. Isn’t it interesting that with the money being all “above board” now we still know little to nothing about how much money is changing hands.

I guess it’s comparable to a person getting paid for a commercial. That information is never public knowledge. Of course very few college athletes actually represent a company as a spokesperson.Mjohn1988 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 31, 2024 10:56 amNot discounting your thought but I would be willing to bet that we have a bunch of scholarship players who get little to nothing in NIL money. You’re correct it is private information that I have no right to. And yes you are right, very few college athletes are actually being paid for the use of their “name, image or likeness”.Bigdaddyg1 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 31, 2024 11:08 amI guess it’s comparable to a person getting paid for a commercial. Re: App Transfer Portal 2025 - IN
The NIL money is all "above board" now? To who? The only thing I know is that we have a new NIL fund. Are the other NIL funds being funneled into one and closed? I am assuming we have small amounts reaching MBB, perhaps WBB and baseball? And maybe wrestling to some extent? Is anyone able to elaborate?Mjohn1988 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 31, 2024 10:56 amNot discounting your thought but I would be willing to bet that we have a bunch of scholarship players who get little to nothing in NIL money. Yes, college athletes can legally get paid for the use of their name, image or likeness. Don’t you know that this was going to clean it all up. But NIL should all be private outside money.ASU84 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 31, 2024 11:12 amThe NIL money is all "above board" now? To who? The only thing I know is that we have a new NIL fund. Re: App Transfer Portal 2025 - IN
Wonder how long it will take the OL to get pissed off that the QB is getting several million in NIL while they get around $5,000? The QB's numbers are only as good as the line is blocking for him. I just threw out those numbers and doesn't apply to App or could it but with other NIL amounts. Players will get jealous at some point they aren't making the same. It happens all the time in the business world.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 31, 2024 11:14 amThere were only about 10 guys getting deals last year.Mjohn1988 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 31, 2024 10:56 amNot discounting your thought but I would be willing to bet that we have a bunch of scholarship players who get little to nothing in NIL money. There is certainly the possibility that NIL disparity can adversely affect team chemistry and the locker room; and is something that has to be managed.AppState89 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 03, 2025 7:30 amWonder how long it will take the OL to get pissed off that the QB is getting several million in NIL while they get around $5,000? This is what I'm so scared of at App. I hope no, but money does cause problems.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 03, 2025 7:35 amThere is certainly the possibility that NIL disparity can adversely affect team chemistry and the locker room; and is something that has to be managed.AppState89 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 03, 2025 7:30 amWonder how long it will take the OL to get pissed off that the QB is getting several million in NIL while they get around $5,000? Ask every OL in the NFL how it feels.AppState89 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 03, 2025 7:30 amWonder how long it will take the OL to get pissed off that the QB is getting several million in NIL while they get around $5,000? It depends on the attitude of the players, if the higher paid is an Ahole it will create problems.
