Add in that we didn’t look like we’d be competitive early in the season.311neers wrote: ↑Wed Feb 05, 2025 9:14 pmJust my opinion- probably wrong….
1. We lost 10 guys, some star power. Some that people fell in love with are no longer here. That might hurt the fan base with constant roster turnover.
2. We were a borderline NCAA bubble team all of last year (we almost didnt need to win the Belt to make the tourney). Being in a 1 bid league probably keeps some fans at home since an NCAA birth doesn’t really happen until March.
3. Weird thought, but the football finish and coaching change kinda drug into basketball and morale was down across the entire fanbase.
We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Still should have more support for the team and University. Especially with good weather.

JMU with the inside track at the two seed given the remaining schedule. They could win out as Texas St (8th) is their toughest opponent remaining.

At least we have the tiebreaker so they have to do one better than us and honestly, watching their game, they were lucky to come out with a win.

On the road and missed the game - first one I’ve missed in a while. How’d Tate play? All I know is what the stats say.

Dodd & Tate were 0-7 from the FT line & committed 10 turnovers. Probably won't win again with those numbers.

Wednesday is a different night than the usual Thursday. Big church night. Maybe a lot of labs or club meetings. I’m hoping these are the reasons, rather than apathy. These guys need support.

The good thing is they probably won’t produce those numbers again. Fingers crossed.

Marshall will beat Ark St to join the log jam and lower Ark St to be within a game.

Marshall beats Arky State. We’re now in a 5 way tie, 1 game out of first.

Huge defensive breakdown. We got a gift on that one. Good recognition and no panic by Tate though.

I think the Auburn game (with a full house) built early momentum and the JMU game just kept it rolling.NattyBumppo'sRevenge wrote: ↑Wed Feb 05, 2025 9:17 pmAdd in that we didn’t look like we’d be competitive early in the season.311neers wrote: ↑Wed Feb 05, 2025 9:14 pmJust my opinion- probably wrong….

Really thought we had turned the corner with the students, but there were less than 400 in the student section (and that might be generous)

Clearly the team isn’t as good as last year, I’m sure that has something to do with attendance.WASU 93 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2025 12:19 amI think the Auburn game (with a full house) built early momentum and the JMU game just kept it rolling.NattyBumppo'sRevenge wrote: ↑Wed Feb 05, 2025 9:17 pmAdd in that we didn’t look like we’d be competitive early in the season.311neers wrote: ↑Wed Feb 05, 2025 9:14 pmJust my opinion- probably wrong….

I also think moving forward it’s becoming harder for fans in general to be emotionally invested in college sports because of all the transfers, NIL etc.
I think that’s especially true for older fans, which could also hit donations.

He had a rough game. I think the lanky SoMiss players gave him a hard time. Thankfully he had 11 assists because the rest of his game was off. He got the assist that mattered in the end.Cro-Magnon App wrote: ↑Wed Feb 05, 2025 10:17 pmOn the road and missed the game - first one I’ve missed in a while. How’d Tate play? I read the stats wrong. They were 0-7 from three and 3-10 from the FT line. Either way, still hard to win with those numbers.
