No Lamm or Dufort
Just announced on pregame that both are out. Lamm injury, Dufort suspension (violation of NCAA rules).

Yeah, that is a huge problem, based on the montana game when Lamm went out, our backups aren't very good right now. Does not bode well against that D linebiggie wrote:That could hurt a lot against there ends.

Re: Lamm and Dufort both out?
Dufort lost his appeal and is done for the season. Has to sit out a complete year of games so he's unable to return until the 4th game of next season.
Looks like Corbin will continue to hold down the right side. Hopefully he'll continually get better as the season progresses. He's done a pretty good job so far and you have to love his size.

Re: Lamm and Dufort both out?
No word on the violation. It could be anything from receiving benefits (see OSU, FSU, USC...), receiving recommended course text books (see Nebraska) or obtaining free text books (see Roll Tide), or taking a class that doesn't exist or being in contact with an agent (see UNC) to failing a drug test (see Grand Valley St and the honey badger).
Being FCS, I doubt we have boosters giving extra benefits to players or at least I hope not. ASU is on the text book rental system so probably not free books and Peacock did an audit on the university to see if there are any particular classes athletes were steered toward...there were none. There are no 1st or 2nd round players on this team so it's doubtful agents are placing long distance call to the high country.
I'm guessing it's a MAJOR violation since he has to sit for an entire season, including games next season. Not sure all the violations I listed above are major but based on the punishment he's receiving, I believe it must be considered serious. If you pointed a gun at me and told me to make an educated guess, I'd say look at GVSU. That is purely speculation on my part, based on the 2nd paragraph and should not be taken as an indictment of RD.

From what I was told Saturday, it was just a stupid mistake...Go to doctor ill, get meds, don't clear them through the coaches, BOOM! You're out!

Re: Lamm and Dufort both out?
It came from a very reliable source. Said the medicine happened to have a narcotic in it and he took it before clearing it with the coaches. Who wouldn't take a medication prescribed by a Dr. Stupid rule!

We could make a long list of stupid stuff the NCAA has or has not done - still my tops was at the conclusion of the UMass championship game - we were still in the stands and listening to David Jackson he was reporting the NCAA was confiscating "illegal" copies of the Watauga DemocratApp91 wrote:National Communists Against Athletes!
