Sam Martin, you may not remember him, he is 35 years old but he just got a 3 mill deal with Carolina.
He's made over 22 mill in the NFL!!!

Quietly building the longest App pro career. Not a bad haul for a kicker of any type.

This breaks up the App St./GaSo tandem for the Bills. Martin was the placeholder for Tyler Bass, the PK from the Stink.
He likely didn't re-sign, because he was a veteran and the Bills made a salary cap move.

I think he requested to be released. He was sick and tired of doing all the dirty work for the kicker from Stink

Does he technically count as the most successful pro career of any former App in terms of longevity and earnings?

Hard to say with Royals and Coakley because of adjusting to inflation and the eras when they played to me.Bigdaddyg1 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 12, 2025 6:05 amDoes he technically count as the most successful pro career of any former App in terms of longevity and earnings?

Just looked up DC. He was 25 his first season according to a website I found. Seems odd. Did he start later at App? In terms of NFL success he’s absolutely the number one dude. When he left the Cowboys he was 4th all time in tackles. Had like 14 PIC’s in his career. Had 1 year of post HS grad work before playing 4 years at App. Grad HS in '91, then the 1 year of post grad would have been 91-92. I'm not sure what he did 92-93, redshirt? But left App in either Dec '96 or May of '97 at age 25.Bigdaddyg1 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 12, 2025 6:39 amJust looked up DC. He was 25 his first season according to a website I found. Seems odd. Re: Panthers sign App St punter
Also, ADG is on the move. Two year deal with Arizona and hopefully an opportunity to start!
