Re: 2025 Baseball Mega Thread
Troy USM and Coastal are all T25. They’re in as of now but it’s early.
UL, JMU, App, Tx State, ODU all regressed from last year it seems.
Southern looks pretty decent.

Re: 2025 Baseball Mega Thread
We could make a good run in the tournament IF we ever get healthy. We've seen it is spurts but then someone else gets hurt.

Re: 2025 Baseball Mega Thread
Offensively, yes. Pitching depth could be an issue in the tournament. It is a war of attrition. Unless, you make it through clean, you may be putting someone on the mound with little or no experience. This may be our issue when comparing ourselves to Beach Chickens or So. Miss
With that said, you never know with 18 to 25 year old players. If we get to finals, anything can happen...

Re: 2025 Baseball Mega Thread
Unless we figure out a way to stretch at least one more pitcher out, we won't have a chance should we play 4 games. Don't know Marks' status, it's hush hush. Harris is unreliable and Bradley can only pitch long relief so often. We need to quit wasting Tuesdays with an inning at a time and start trying to develop someone. See if they can bounce back from a bad inning or pitch multiple innings.

Re: 2025 Baseball Mega Thread
It seems like Tuesdays are just a bullpen day where each guy gets 20 pitches. Welch was the Saturday guy to start the year before he got hurt. He's been back for 2-3 weeks now but still only throwing 20 pitches per outing. Have to ramp up Zang Welch and Oblen to have a chance, not sure what the plan is there. And have to get Marks back.BUTCH1991 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 03, 2025 1:07 pmUnless we figure out a way to stretch at least one more pitcher out, we won't have a chance should we play 4 games. A little worried about our offense health as well. Poor Xureb has played what seems like 20% of games since he got on campus. We need him and Evans back to help our Fig and Licht at the plate.
Kramer probably done for the year which forces the need for Evans to return ASAP.
Have to survive and somehow win these next 2 road trips. Dig deep men, you guys got this!

Probably time to switch up the strength and in-season maintenance program.
Never seen so many guys Day to Day.

Re: 2025 Baseball Mega Thread
Feel like hamstrings alone were 5 guys at one point. Ankles. Bad backs.
It's a nursing home!

Re: 2025 Baseball Mega Thread
I know you mentioned that they were possibly on a heavier in season lifting schedule or is this just plain bad luck with injuries

Re: 2025 Baseball Mega Thread
I heard they were still lifting heavy in-season. I'm not sure if that's been the case the past few years...maybe it has and maybe nothing changed. Could be just horrible luck.Appmountaineers19 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 03, 2025 1:27 pmI know you mentioned that they where possibly on a heavier in season lifting schedule or is this just plain bad luck with injuries
But heavy squats and hamstrings don't go well together when playing 5 games a week!

Agreed lighter weight should be used to maintain. IMO311neers wrote: ↑Thu Apr 03, 2025 1:30 pmI heard they were still lifting heavy in-season. Re: 2025 Baseball Mega Thread
My plan is to lower expectations. The lack of consistency on the mound dictates that.

Re: 2025 Baseball Mega Thread
Yup. Would be a slightly different story if we had Steensma and started the year with Welch healthy, and Zang, and Oblen. Not enough depth to overcome that. And then you lose Marks...
Hope we have some stud arms coming in next year, signing day already happened. If not, attack the portal.

When it rains it pours. I don't know if S&C is the issue or not, but it's worth evaluating just to be sure. Some of these injuries are just freaky deals though.

Re: 2025 Baseball Mega Thread
Correa with a clutch 2 out, 2 run single makes it 2-0 in the 1st. Zamora drives in a run in the 2nd followed by a 2 out, 2 run double by Miller on the hit and run to make it 5-0 after our 1/2 of the 2nd.
