Spring Game Weather
Looks like Saturday’s weather will be more winter like than spring. Current forecast says high of 46 but will feel like 39. Winds up to 20 mph. Attendance will likely take a hit.

Re: Spring Game Weather
I was planning on making the trip, until I saw that forecast. Plus, I’m still recovering from being sick recently.
Hope it goes well, but the weather won’t help.

Son just texted me saying how “great” (sarcasm) it is to have cold and sleet in April up there today.

Re: Spring Game Weather
Weather shouldn't be a surprise to anyone that has lived in Boone for any amount of time. During my time at App (88-93) I saw it snow in every month except June and July, so sleet in April doesn't surprise me.

Boone for the win, again! I think we will be fine though and still planning to tailgate it and enjoy the day. Bonus football.

Re: Spring Game Weather
I saw it snow 3 feet deep twice in April during my Freshman year in 87.
I can still remember ice forming on the inside of my dorm windows in Bowie, and my car freezing closed.
Good times.

I worked at a beer & wine store in BR in the early and mid 80s. I remember dropping off a bank deposit in the early hours of June 1 and there were a few snow flurries.

Re: Spring Game Weather
We got married on March 29 ('14) in North Iredell, was rainy off and on but pretty warm. Went to spend 2 nights in BR directly from the wedding. Didn't pay attention to weather due to the other chaos going on. I was in shorts/tee, wife was in a sundress and flops. It was 30 degrees, 60mph wind gusts, and an inch of snow on the ground.

Re: Spring Game Weather
Yeah she still hates cold weather. She’ll just have to stay inside if/when we ever make the move back to the mtns.311neers wrote: ↑Tue Apr 08, 2025 2:09 pmStill married? Impressive if so. Re: Spring Game Weather
I remember a couple of April snow baseball games back in the day. Brrr...not sure how our catchers/pitchers did it.
"Wallow in it"
"You're only cold if you think you're cold"
"We've got a window" (99% of sky could be pitch black pouring rain/snow, but if he saw 1% blue sky...this was the go to)
Some of my favorite Pollard quotes when it was 27 degrees and snowing.
Could be snowing one minute, then sunny the next....BOONE!
