Went to the pen too early. 2-1 when Harris left the game, 2 out runner on 1st.
3 hits in a row by the next pitcher- now 6-2 and they’re threatening again.

From the Third on we struggled . Give JM credit , they played with an “edge” and made some nice plays. Like the last one which might have been on us …

Well that sucks but at least won another conference series

Injuries have hurt our 3rd pitching slot. Leaving too many men on base. Going to have to have a mindset of moving b.runners over earlier in the game… much like JMU did ….when we play CC and USM (1st + 3rd) in team ERA. We really need to at least split those series.

We are also very quick to pull starters when they aren’t really in trouble. 2-1 game, runner on 1st 2 outs and he’s at 44 pitches. Bullpen immediately gives up 3 straight hits and all of sudden down 4-1. At some point we’ve got to extend some guys, let them figure it out to be ready for the tourney.

I couldn't figure out why they'd take that risk with minimal value of getting to 3rd

I can’t disagree that we made our share of mental mistakes. I will say that every team is dealing with injuries to one degree or another. It might be that we relaxed a bit after taking the first two. Again I don’t know but it just seemed a little “ off” today. I can’t be disappointed though with where we stand in the league especially after the way we started the season.
