WTH is wrong with our hitting? I get CCU and smiss are really good...but I really thought our downfall would just be inconsistent pitching but still putting up offense ..but our offense has been super disappointing the last 2 weeks

We started struggling well before USM. Marshall and JMU weren’t setting the world on fire w the bats.

You can really tell how well we’re doing (or not) by who and how many posts.

Losing 8 or 9 in a row is tough. Has that ever happened? Maybe the Billy Jones era had one of these stretches.

Yes it happened regularly for years. And i am just making an observation. I can tell within a run or two what’s going on based on the posts and the tenor of said posts.


Edit: With that said, I didn’t see us being down 8-1 in the eighth — maybe 5-2. Oh well.

27-4 over three games , good opponent sure but we got spanked. Second weekend in row we were just outclassed, in every aspect of the game. The talent gap is just huge.

When your best hitter was probably 5th best last year it’s going to be a struggle. Did we take 2 of 3 from them last year? That’s before we even get to the arms and defense.
Have to win the next 2 series now, must wins. Might need to sweep

We took two of three in Boone last season. A lot of moving parts but yes our best shot is sweeping @South Ally and G State in Boone.

They did win the series last year. First series win since they both were in the SBC. APP is T-7 right now but sitting 9th. Only one game behind is Marshall. Luckily they are playing 2 pretty bad teams to finish up. Need 4 out of 6. Could be the first losing season in 3 years.

Our bats started cooling off heading into the toughest stretch of the year. A lot of our top hitters so far this year were unknown coming into the year. Maybe scouting reports have caught up to them? time to figure out how to overcome it. Luckily the USA and GSU pitching staffs aren't great either.

Was wondering how we moved up 5 spots in RPI after losing our 9th in a row haha! (I know it's not because of Queens)
