I've pulled for Hunter ever since he played at Clemson. All the odds were against him....he went to a high school near Myrtle Beach, and became a championship game hero and got drafted and against all odds eventually made the Pro Bowl.
He did not have size, athleticism, anything like that going for him. Sounds like the kind of guy we would offer. Just found out we did...he was an App State commit, but got a preferred walk on offer from Clemson, and he worked his way to the top.
Maybe we all forgot about him committing to App when he didn't come, he would have made a fun Mountaineer to watch. He was out of the league last year recovering from a fairly serious health situation but wants to come back to the NFL, and will try to catch on as a Carolina Panther. Panthers have a fairly crowded WR room all of a sudden, but I hope he makes it.

Re: Hunter Renfrow and the Carolina Panthers
If I remember correctly, we were one of the only, if not THE only FBS school giving him an option to play QB at the next level. Everyone else wanted him as a WR. I'd say the commitment flip and position change were a smart choice on his part...Captain Morgan wrote: ↑Tue May 06, 2025 4:17 pmI've pulled for Hunter ever since he played at Clemson. We also had All Pro Jason Elam committed to App until he took a recruiting trip to Hawaii.

Hunter Renfrow - a Howard Twilley type? or a Fred Biletnokoff?
