Two really bad teams. One of them looked like they have packed it in.
Again, how do you not put your best lineup (pitcher) out there when 1. You haven't clinched a spot in the tournament and 2. You still have a chance to move into a bye and avoid the play in games. Sorry, but it has really bugged me the whole night.
Maybe the coaches don’t think that he is our best pitcher.

Well, if they think it's Harris, we're in worse shape than I thought.

I mean, they have their rationale for doing what they do and they know the team better than anyone.

Top nine teams are all officially in the tournament.

JMU, ULM, USA are officially out. App State & Georgia State are battling it out for what could be the 10th and final seed.

App wins and they are in.
If Panthers sweep, they are in (hold tie breaker over USA & would then hold tie breaker over App).

Just like with football and basketball we have guys on here who have obviously chosen the wrong career paths. Should have absolutely become coaches. I’ll rant about how my teams perform but I will always believe that highly qualified coaches who are with their teams every day know who should be playing. If you don’t have your Jimmies and Joes it’s hard to win.

If everyone only discussed subjects they were one of the top 1000 in practice out of a nation of 300M this would be a dull world.

A couple of posters here have watched 10x the innings I have and have a great understanding of the game of baseball.

I appreciate the insights from the fans that obviously watch a tons of games, played a ton of games or a combination of both.

KS is a quality human being with success at pretty much everywhere he has been but I will say not all coaches (head coaches and assistants) at the college level are "highly" qualified. A lot of assistant coaches get hired because the HC trusts them. Doesn't make them qualified just means the HC doesn't want to hire outside their circle. My best coaches were in HS. They were teachers of the game. My college coaches except for JUCO were more "managers" than anything. Had a few good assistants but they were usually plucked by year's end for greener pastures. If coaches aren't moving up (especially D2 and above) chances are they aren't that special just my opinion. Now at the P5 level that's different because they can pay 2 or 3 assistant's well. This level (mid to lower D1) finding quality assistants on the salary they get let alone trying to pay 2 or 3 assistants is a difficult task.
Not talking about the Mid Majors that produce quality ball - I'm talking about the 200 or so teams that have a hard time doing this.

WTH is happening?...my power is out so can't watch the game...I finally get live stats in my phone and we're down 5 to freaking 1 in the 2nd inning!! I mean it's so or die...where is the fight? I know we have been bad last several weeks...but my goodness we were decent earlier in the season...we have to win and it's like we are just going through the motions or something

Love Kermit as a coach but more importnabtly a person. But you can’t go from 4th to not making the conf tourney in a span of 3.5 weeks. I want Kermit to stay, but we do need to re-asses the assistant pool.

It seems he is very loyal to his assistants. (where have we heard this before) Not sure if that happens.

You have been more adamant with expectations than I have over the past couple of years. Two years ago was amazing and everything came together for a deep run in the SBC. Last year was an above average year (not good but above average). Other than that is hasn't been roses. He has brought this program to respectability. It's hard to maintain what he's trying to accomplish at a lower level D1 with the variables they have to deal with regardless of conference affiliation. They are fighting an uphill fight constantly.

I think they do have some talent but lack the necessary depth required for the expectations of some.

I don’t know why the team is so bad. From Queens to G State the season has had more downs than ups. And frankly has been difficult to watch as the opposition teams conduct batting practice during the games. Like tonight. I do know who is responsible for fixing it. If he can’t then he needs to move on.

Play in game tomorrow. Doesn't really matter at this point.

Epic collapse led by our coaching staff this weekend. I sure hope no one still thinks this was the proper strategy for the weekend. IF we use our goods arms tomorrow, now they're down until probably at least Thursday. If we get lucky, we only use 1 of our 2 arms tomorrow.

We were 21-16 not even a month ago and looking like we could be a 30 win team. Then sh*t hit the fan in all phases. Hitting, pitching, fielding and coaching. At least could have squandered a .500 record like most thought going into the year. 1 step forward, 2 steps back. Retain the young bats, raise NIL money and find some arms.
Oh, and give Steensma the keys.

Not starting Cross or Wilson today was wild. Especially after not starting them yesterday.

Per 247 Steensma is not coming back. Again where is the NIL money coming from? More scholarships will be needed as well. Good luck finding the quality arms needed.
