It just goes to show you that the AAC only had three national brands and when they left they had none. The Sun Belt has more national brands than the AAC has ever had.

NC State sees no value in playing Appalachian which shows the delusional level that NC State has as a national football power. A loss to Appalachian would be bad for their program nationally, but I do not see NC State ever having a shot at a national championship in football. I believe Appalachian has a better shot at winning a national championship in football currently than NC State does regardless of who they play or do not play. Heck, I believe that any team in the Sun Belt East has a better shot at making the playoffs in football before NC State does. Just because they are not scared to play anyone and four of them have the championships to prove it as well as nationally ranked wins. The other three are relevant as well nationally. I guess when East Carolina plays them this year, we will see who is relevant...

He said..."We have a better chance". That is a math statement, not that it is going to happen. I think his statement is correct. We have as good a chance as any ACC team does. There are about 16 g5 teams that have a legit shot at winning the spot. And that spot will have almost as much respect as the ACC chance.

That being said "if" the ACC explodes NC State will get left out of the SEC and BIG. Then they will be hoping they can get a home and home with us.

if the Big 12 will take UCF and Cincinnati..and already has WVA...they will take NC State if no one else does...same end result.

I was thinking play us in Boone as early as 2026 to get us when we aren't a top team but yeah their issue is playing G5 teams on the road. If I was them I would not do it but they signed the contract so I think we should do our best to hold them to that and not keep backing the game up. I do think it was dumb for their AD to ever agree to that though.

Not sure what you guys think, but I’d imagine at least 2/3 of the ACC teams need the conference to stay intact. Not sure they’d have good options with the other Power conferences if it fell apart.
