Gamecock baseball season is over and their twitter account is already posting “return announcements”.
Maybe the same is coming for us?

Re: 2025 Baseball Mega Thread
I know some people asked where they can follow the TP. 64anaylitics on X is a good source. Won't hear about many of the reserves transferring but they will announce the better players that enter.

I hope Troy gets in. BA has them as a 3 seed right now. D1 has Troy still as last 4 in.

Re: 2025 Baseball Mega Thread
We brought Don Munson, Clemson PxP (and App grad btw) on our show last week and I asked him about this. The way they’re handling it is the revenue shared to your team will reflect the revenue your program brings in. It won’t be some bs scale of “deserving”, it won’t be based on title IX, W/L, standings, or championships won, just straight revenue generated. If volleyball generates 2% off total revenue, the volleyball team will get 2% of whatever amount Clemson distributes.Bigdaddyg1 wrote: ↑Wed May 21, 2025 6:11 amI can see this topic going from the baseball team to NIL and profit sharing but I’ll ask this probably naive question. How on earth is any profit sharing going to work? Let’s say for the sake of argument that App State scrapes together $2m “extra” revenue to shell out to our athletes. How much is the 4th string freshman quarterback who most likely won’t ever see anything but the scout team going to get paid? How about the starting quarterback? Is there going to be some sort of paid salary cap management team who will have to decide how to split up the pie (assuming we have $2m to dole out)? Will payments be determined or will there be painful negotiations with parents, players and agents?
As far as baseball goes do we really expect that our level of players will suddenly escalate with a relatively small pile of cash? I have zero idea so I’m just asking. Some here seem to think that our shortfalls can all be eliminated with money to players. Obviously if we suddenly tapped an oil well we could go buy 4 stud 98 MPH throwing pitchers but even then are we beating out the college baseball blue bloods?

My buddy's son plays on the team. They were worried that if they didn't win, they weren't going to regionals. In his words - The SoCon is normally a 1 bid team. Unfortunately they lost their #1 last week UCL and #2 yesterday same thing. They lost eight contributing pitchers this year and still got this far. No excuses I love it.

Portal season.
We’ve landed a Belmont Abbey transfer. Looks to be a 5th year pitcher according to his Twitter commitment post.
Don’t know much about him, will let others chime in as more info comes.

Re: 2025 Baseball Mega Thread
App’s bullpen management strategy was a mystery this season. Injuries notwithstanding, some of the in-game mound decisions were baffling.
In the staff’s defense, it wasn’t like we had a bunch of solid mid-inning relievers on tap. But it frequently appeared as if the staff was overthinking the process, and the results spoke for themselves.
Maybe I’m crazy and it’s just me.

Re: 2025 Baseball Mega Thread
I think when you have 4-5 reliable arms (2 of which are starters) there's only so many innings these guys can eat up. You gotta hope that some of these guys with higher era's could pick up some of the slack but it just didn't happen. I'd be in the fetal position crying every night. BUT between recruiting misses and some injuries (they seem to have quite a few arm problems up there) they did it to themselves. This guy they got from the TP looks like a good depth piece that may be able to eat up some innings. Big transition though coming from D2.Bootsy wrote: ↑Mon May 26, 2025 7:22 amApp’s bullpen management strategy was a mystery this season. Re: 2025 Baseball Mega Thread
OK, so someone educate me on baseball S&C programs. I’m familiar with football S&C from having played. How does baseball S&C differ from football/basketball programs? Do they focus more on flexibility and strength than stamina? What about rehab? Thanks!

Re: 2025 Baseball Mega Thread
First bad thing is that they don't have there own S/C coach. He is shared with a few sports. Reports vary on what kind of conditioning is going on up there. I would think/hope pitchers are on a good program of stretching and arm/shoulder maintenance. (I like resistance bands)/running program for stamina-explosion/lighter weight usage designed for pitchers and LONG TOSS. PP's are still gonna workout but again varied reports on what's done up there.
Also depends if its in-season or off-season
