Doeren Scared of App State?

Doeren appears to be scared of this game and it sounds like he and the AD disagree on it. I will be surprised if Dave is still there in 2028. Either way, I don't think anyone expects this game to actually happen. The ACC does not want them playing on the road against G5 teams just like we should never play on the road against a FCS team.

If he wants to recruit Virginia like he says in the article he should drop App and UVA and play at ODU.

Let's be real here he isn't recruiting kids in Boone or Charlottesville, he's recruiting the 757.
He should play Charlotte and drop ECU. He recruits Charlotte more than Greenville.

Isn't 2026 played at NC State. That is really not the issue is it . I thought the issue is playing Group teams for away games

I was thinking play us in Boone as early as 2026 to get us when we aren't a top team but yeah their issue is playing G5 teams on the road. If I was them I would not do it but they signed the contract so I think we should do our best to hold them to that and not keep backing the game up. I do think it was dumb for their AD to ever agree to that though.

Remember, Boo Corrigan was the genius who signed Doeren to a long-term contract on the basis of making a few bowl games and beating an average UNC team regularly during his tenure as HC. Not sure NCSU has even sniffed a conference championship since DD has been there.

No NCSU coach has in my lifetime. State hasn't won a conference title in 45 years. Good years are finishing 3rd overall or 2nd in divisions when they had those.

NC State hasn't even made the ACC Championship Game since it started in 2005. Boston College, SMU, Duke, UVA, GT and even Notre Dame have made the championship game.

I think Dave is a solid coach but not elite and the long-term contract was a little too much. I do think NC State could get a better coaching staff but they have certainly not had anywhere near the success they thought based on beating those average UNC teams and making a couple bowl games early on for sure.
