New coach - 1st time head coach - pivotal year for App State. He needs to do and coach his way. I believe I saw we have 51 new players. This is a whole new staff and team. Probably is taking a while to put all the pieces together. Even continuity with practice etc.... I also like to hear what is happening - however, I will gladly take nothing on the front end for a very good product and season.

Yes. But the one media member there isn’t going to tell anyone. And you know this.

Not publicly or else Loggains will cut any media member off from general media access, which is the smart approach for a coach to ensure media don't leak things you don't want out.

It can work. It takes a great deal of buy-in from all parties. If it’s successful, no one cares. As Dowell says. The players know who the guy is. If “the guy” hasn’t revealed themselves then the team will buy-in.

It sure doesn't sound like media-speak when he says it. Seems like we legitimately don't have a QB that has separated himself from the others. He said they are still running different QBs with the 1s, so it is not like he has his guy who is getting all the reps and he just isn't telling us. I really think we don't have THE guy yet. I know that old adage that if you have 2 QBs you don't have 1, but what if you have 3 QBs? I have said this before but we are either extremely fortunate to have 3 capable FBS QBs in the same room (seems odd with 2 transfers and a true freshman at the G6) or there is a legit concern with that position. Hoping for the former but I fear the latter.

I basically said the same thing on the game notes. I’ll admit I asked weeks ago about a depth chart but now personally I don’t really care. Basically we would see names of a bunch of dudes who are brand new, many of which have barely played significant college ball.

Man I’m with you. I never understand why that makes any difference during a game. Every announcer in every game does it. It’s always THE (fill in the blank) transfer. So a dude was on the roster somewhere else last year. Who cares?
