Sun Belt didn’t have any horrible FCS losses so that’s something. But overall a pretty rough weekend.

Freson ran all over the Eagles in the second half, they couldn't stop them at all. I know it is only 1 week but I didn't watch any team in the Sun Belt that I thought could hang with us for an entire game. ODU and So Miss had some moments but not many of them. One week does not a season make but I have to say that I am a lot more excited about a potentially great season than I was on Thursday.

ODU and So. Miss played P4 schools. We played a Patsy. Indiana was an above average P4 school last year. Although I am excited that we look much better on D than last year, I am going to temper my expectations until after Boise St. and/or Oregon St
JMU looks good and will be good.

It's hard to gauge a lot of these results due to lopsided talent gaps and typical week one issues. The four games featuring G6 match ups caught my eye. GS and Louisiana both looked bad while App and Texas State took care of weaker peer teams. Give me hope for the conference season.

ESPN at least one year did a weekly eliminator listing (so to speak) and kept dropping teams out of title contention. Of course with playoffs it’s wider but despite the bad opponent we beat at least we remain in the hunt. The top G5’s are basically in a weekly playoff mode. The G5 rep almost has to go 11-1 at a minimum and also has to win their CCG. A loss last Friday would have been devastating on many levels (CFP aside). Remains to be seen how good we will be but Charlotte looks like a 3-9 at best.

On another topic - Middle Tennessee should change their name to Nashville. Charlotte has almost pulled their new titleing as well as univ of Louisiana. Middle Tenn needs to become Nashville.

While I’m very firmly of the belief that Loggains will leave for any HC position offered in the P4, I don’t think there’s a ton of reason for him to take a Clemson OC gig.

He’s been an OC. In the SEC, in the NFL. He took our job because he wants to be a HC (I presume). He wants the HC resume with us to be able to take that next step to the P4/P2 as a HC.

I kind of agree. He could have gotten ~Riley money at us to stay IMO. He took a cut to get HC experience and move up a la Drink. Hopefully we get more than 1 year assuming we keep it up through the year

He must have got beaten up in practice by his own team. Coach shouldn't be letting that happen to his own players. I was hoping he would end up doing well there, as long as he wasn't playing us.
