Re: So Miss discussion
On an off subject comment but not worth a thread. Your football team is a good (Great) marketing tool. I did not know where Lindenwood was and now I will be following them to see how their season turns out. I was impressed with their swagger, grit and determination. They took blow after blow (big nasty hits on the quarterback and running backs and receivers) and kept getting up. Reminded me of the App old days. I hope they make a run in the playoffs.

18-14 App's. Ugly game but 3-0. bye will be helpful before Boise. If Charlotte and the first quarter team shows up we have better than 50/50 to win that game. I might be delusional but I feel that.

I like that better. I think we are going to walk a mile or so from our hotel to the game.AppAlum1 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 08, 2025 5:00 pmMy weather prophet says high of 89 on Saturday. Re: So Miss discussion
Interesting things going on. Official line is USM -1.5. SP+ has us by like 8 points. FPI favors us.
Feel like this spread has some value but I don’t bet on my own team. The public overreacting to the Lindenwood game (I am too, but realize a lot of this came down to drops and a really strange touchdown catch from them and a questionable touchdown based on a questionable fumble).
I think we win this one comfortably.

Interesting that ESPN's book has USM -1.5. Wonder if most folks stay away from this game or if a heavy majority of the money comes in on USM?

I know the competition hasn’t been great, but having the #2 rusher in the country shows promise.

Oldest known? Have we not explored the depth of college football ages yet?T-Dog wrote: ↑Mon Sep 08, 2025 7:09 pmSouthern Miss has a 30-year-old freshman punter from Australia, the oldest-known player in FBS.
