Re: Vol Football (Aguilar watch)
I hope Joey makes millions and millions of dollars. I hope he goes to the NFL and becomes greater than Tom Brady.

The only time anything you say is topic of conversation involves “bless his heart”.Saint3333 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 03, 2025 11:59 amPlease stop making more of this than is here.
We are now all saying the same thing, many factors came into play, money was one of those, if you don't believe that, cool.
Hey at least I'm giving you guys something to talk about at tailgate tomorrow...

Just admit you were wrong; you can do it. It isn’t hard; it’s a message board and no one knows (or cares) who you are. Just like no one here knows or cares who I am.

Re: Vol Football (Aguilar watch)
I’m not wrong, there are many factors in the decision, money being one of them.
Ever taken a job and claim it wasn’t about the money, yeah me too!
Enjoy the tailgate tomorrow, it’s going to be ok.

Re: Vol Football (Aguilar watch)
I do believe that money does play into a decision to a certain extent whether this scenario or any other. However, I think Joey potentially leaves if no money on the table if he had opportunity to be a starter at a power program...or I would (think long term and next level) . It was in his best interest to get film playing against power school opponents on a weekly basis.
Fortunately, for Joey, his first selection did not work out. UCLA is a dumpster fire and Joey would be running for his life to survive. Sometimes luck or circumstances beyond one's control can be a god send.
I have no clue on opportunities Joey had before UCLA decision, however, I assume several. In making that decision, maybe money was a factor, maybe not.
Maybe Joey would have stayed at App if no money offered by other schools. However, it would not be life changing money and Joey would not be discussed on national TV like he is now.
Not stepping into you all's debate. Just an observation.

All of this is correct. There is no debate. It’s just a couple of chuckleheads who don’t know dick about the situation standing on their own assumptions and claiming them to be truths.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Sat Oct 04, 2025 5:58 amI do believe that money does play into a decision to a certain extent whether this scenario or any other. Re: Vol Football (Aguilar watch)
UCLA is proof that just because a school is a P4 and pays better money that it is not a better situation. He was very fortunate that Tennessee opened up. The reason I think money did play a big part in his decision to transfer is that he was likely just going to get a tryout in the NFL based on how the 2024 season went. He was very smart to bank what he could just in case he would not make it in the NFL.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Sat Oct 04, 2025 5:58 amI do believe that money does play into a decision to a certain extent whether this scenario or any other. Re: Vol Football (Aguilar watch)
I was just curious because I almost thought you were saying it was to get him to the NFL and everyone knows you can make it from anywhere. I believed he was looking for money and to be closer to home at a P4 so UCLA was ideal in those terms but he got lucky that they pursued Nico and Tennessee happened to open up because that is the best situation for him. Tennessee is a stable program with much better coaching and he still got good money. I would have thought Joey was crazy to even pick UCLA if he was not a California kid.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 02, 2025 7:49 pmDidn’t say either one.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 02, 2025 7:24 pmAre you saying money had nothing to do with it and he just wanted to get to the SEC? Or are you saying he made the move to get to the NFL? Tennessee is not that much closer to home by flight.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 02, 2025 9:05 amThe money wasn’t the motivating factor. It was good money and it was closer for his family to see him, but that was his opportunity to get to the next level. He’s doing well financially at Tennessee as well. He loves it, the fans love him. But make no mistake, he loves App. He is looking to get a house in Boone at some point.

You're such a baby. You start a fight, get proved wrong, double down and then try to take the high-handed condescending approach to bait me. Nice try.
Wisdom has been chasing you for your entire life...but you have always been faster.
Don't bother responding.

There’s no fight, a comment made in common sense. Then an agreement the decision is multifaceted.
Society has turned into you’re 100% wrong or right with no objectivity to see the truths in others statements.
You likely view that as condescending as well. But I’m not here to insult you, my remarks stand on their own without name calling.
Enjoy the tailgate and game and hopefully watching Joey continue his excellent play.

Talked with him briefly at the game. All smiles and very humble. Interesting times for college/pro football.

Obviously may not pan out. But can’t hurt to have the current QB of Tennessee telling you “commit to App State, ball out and launch yourself into a starting role in the SEC/BIG”.

Talked to him briefly after the game. Very polite and engaging young man.
He could have been anywhere yesterday but he chose to come to Boone.
