It wasn’t late.
It was high. You can’t go high on a QB. But agree, they still had 70 yards to go and it took them 7 seconds. Ouch.

On video review, the call Targeting on the play and Farmer is out of the rest of the game.

Y’all can gnash teeth all you want about NIL, transfers, etc. but to me it is the rules and presentation that is ruining football. A play that gets called as roughing and targeting in one game will get completely ignored in another game or even in the same game on a different play. Similarly, a RB can get hit exactly like the QB but won’t draw any kind of penalty. There’s just WAY too much subjectivity in American football. NFL is even worse. Then you have the interminable reviews. It’s hard for me to watch, and it’s why I rarely watch games between teams that I don’t actively root for anymore.

Nailed it. And what makes it worse is there is basically ZERO accountability and transparency.

A coach calls out refs for bad calls or inconsistency, and the conference will fine them. A coach has to answer for bad decisions and losing.

But the refs never have to answer for anything.
