Hot take: A healthy Swann playing the last two weeks would have us bowl eligible.
To play contrarian a bit, it’s also possible ODU just stopped trying. We’ve been on that side of things plenty of times and let a blowout become annoyingly close.

They seemed perfectly content letting Swann chuck the ball into the soft short yardage routes. He made some nice throws so I’m not dismissing him. Just something to keep in mind.
I agree. You are playing contrarian. The difference in how much zip is on the ball between the two is noticeable on tv.

I see it differently. Swann made decisions way faster than Kohl and anticipated the open window better. He hit on the deep back just as much as the mid level and short pass. He's just reads the play quicker. Forces it sometimes, but pulls the trigger quicker.
I don’t disagree with you on his processing speed.

QB ply when the pressure is on is different.

Last week we just needed a defense.

Kohl is one of those finesse guys who looks
Great when his heart rate is down and he’s not uncomfortable. Swann just has more tools. He’s been beat up this year, but he looks more the part back there

It is easy to play. Monday morning QB.
Based upon the past history, the QB would have at least 2 INTs in each of the last two weeks.
Glad 5 was productive today when in the game.. hopefully that sets up for a few good weeks coming up.. However, a fourth qtr TD does not a whole game make.

Same old same old. Turnovers and penalties. New twist this week. A penalty cost us an interception.

Oh well, one of these weeks we might not shoot ourselves in the foot.

Cardiac-Apps!!!

We have had 4 games out decided by less than 1 score. We are 2 and 2 in those games.

Kohl went 19-37 for 138 yards. That’s 3.7 yards a pass. He also threw a pick in the endzone and had the softest qb sneak ever. I’ve been critical of Swann’s gunslinging but he came in an outgained Kohl in basically 1/2 of the 4th quarter by making assertive throws. I was behind Kohl getting playing time as everyone loves the back up quarterback, but all things being equal and if Swann isn’t injured I think you’d agree he brings much more of a dynamic element to the offense.

Offense played more than well enough to win last week.

Hopefully this coming bye week will help, but I can't imagine things drastically improve on D when you've had to kick 3 DL off the team by the week of the 8th game. Swann should get the nod next game. Kohl lost me on that soft slide coming up short for a first. If you're 6'7" you bet e learn how to use your size to your advantage

Early on, yes. Not when the game was on the line. We needed someone who could throw darts. Kohl is not that someone.

Agree, the slide was it for me. Weak and soft. My leader needs to have more fire and more competitiveness for me.

The lack of a dual threat QB continues to hurt us but there is a long list of reasons we have given away three very winnable conference games.

Kohl didn’t cost us the CCU game. Losing # 7 and two OL hurt, and dropping a good throw from Kohl at the two was a pretty big mistake, but overall scoring 37 against anyone in conference is enough to win.

I will agree that the two Ramseys going down was the big blow, for sure.

This. I’ll continue to say it. At this level, pains me to say it, we have to have a dual threat QB to make up the difference. We don't have the OL to hang around (the Sunbelt).
