Anyone in the stadium Thursday should be able to agree that was one of the most lifeless games vs GS that we've ever played.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Sat Nov 08, 2025 8:53 amOh, okay. I think the players showed effort. Energy is different. You don’t get back into a game after down 19-0 without effort.

Re: Roster/Staff Updates
I’m not sure we aren’t confusing lack of effort with lack of talent.
If I go out there and give it my all against a better athlete (low bar I know) I’m not going to be perceived as giving much effort, perhaps that’s all I’ve got.

If you many of the players were not giving watching the game at the stadium as I did, you may have had to many beers before you entered the stadium.JTApps1 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 08, 2025 9:26 amAnyone in the stadium Thursday should be able to agree that was one of the most lifeless games vs GS that we've ever played.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Sat Nov 08, 2025 8:53 amOh, okay. If they showed no effort, the score would have been 40-3 instead of 25-23. Good grief.

Re: Roster/Staff Updates
Combination of lack of talent and lack of being prepared (on coaches or players not grasping the idea)...first two plays. RB in motion to our sideline...not one defensive player moved to get in the area. Asking 10 to run 30 yards after snap to go run down the RB is not going to end well. Next play, same idea to the left.
As not in the locker room on the daily, not sure if player in game mistake or game prep by coaches.

Yeah, I did a double take when I heard that. After the first series or 2, I was wondering what they did for a week and a half. Each week they seem to come out more unprepared than the week before.

It may make more sense to list the players who showed effortBambooRdApp wrote: ↑Sat Nov 08, 2025 8:40 amJust curious, which players showed "lack of effort"?

Re: Roster/Staff Updates
Dukes are going to beat us by 50....and they will need to run the points up for style points for the CFP. I truly pray I am wrong, but they look legit.
That being said. Isn't our Defensive Coordinator from NC? He should be our connection to NC recruits.

Re: Roster/Staff Updates
I hope we have scouts in Cullowhee today. Both these teams look to have guys that could help us. Thinking about it , one could argue that Barnes and Flowers are two of our best and they were FCS last season.

Re: Roster/Staff Updates
I think it goes back to the fundamental problem that is the transfer portal. There is no more loyalty or commitment in college football. Everyone knows if things go bad, they can always transfer somewhere else next year. How many of our players (or coaches) even care about the rivalry with GSU? It's pay for play and it's here to stay.

Re: Roster/Staff Updates
Guys we are bad this year, enjoy the last two games (tailgates) and know that this roster will be better in 2026 than it is today.
No sense in hand-wringing these last three weeks.

They’re not getting paid to play… they’re getting paid to win. And if they can’t win… weii you know…dtrain4prez wrote: ↑Sat Nov 08, 2025 5:06 pmI think it goes back to the fundamental problem that is the transfer portal.
