Re: WCU Football
We could use some of their receivers....at least they can catch the ball. I mean 42 straight completions

Re: WCU Football
I would much rather our portal haul be full of players balling out at lower levels looking to take the step up, rather than full of SEC benchwarmers who you have no idea if they can even play at this level. Give me at least a 60/40 ratio of players moving up to players moving down.

7, 1, 4 (before injury)... Just to name 3 on offense alone.
I could care less Power school, fellow Group school, FCS, DII....
If they can play, sign 'em up.

Re: WCU Football
That's the point. You have no idea with P4 benchwarmers. We got lucky hitting on three of them. And we have missed on both our quarterbacks.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Mon Nov 03, 2025 12:51 pm7, 1, 4 (before injury)... Just to name 3 on offense alone.

No matter which way we go, they are still unknowns how they will perform here. But with one group of players, you have meaningful D-1 collegiate stats to use as a reference point. To me that leads to painting a more accurate projection.

Re: WCU Football
If we are a developmental program then why do folks constantly scout other rosters for next year? The QBs that we have need time to development their knowledge of the system.

On July 1, 2021 the NIL program was implemented, with each year that passes G5 programs have moved further away from developing players, other than developing them for other programs.

Re: WCU Football
WCU had a poor special teams performance today against Mercer in the 4th. They lost an important game and should have been win by two points. I did not see the rest of the game, but I remember when the the reason for a lot of their students going to the game was to see their band's halftime performance. They looked they had a real football fan enthusiasm/atmosphere today. I am glad to see it.

Re: WCU Football
WCU fans thought they made the FG at the end and rushed the field thinking they won. At least if they’d have won, it would have been field rushing worthy.

Re: WCU Football
WCU QB continues to put up really good numbers. We should give this kid a very hard look. His line today was 33/49 for 551 yards with 7 TDs and 1 Int. I don't care what level of football you play, this kid puts up huge numbers.

Re: WCU Football
The PA announced "IT'S GOOD!!!" It was a 33-yard field goal attempt, so you'd expect it to be good.NattyBumppo'sRevenge wrote: ↑Sat Nov 08, 2025 6:53 pmWCU fans thought they made the FG at the end and rushed the field thinking they won. Wide right. I feel for the kid. Something he will never forget. The QB extends play and has touch on the short passes and accuracy on the long ball.

Re: WCU Football
The way the QB was playing, I expected one throw to the end zone on 3rd down, not a qb sneak to get a middle of the field FG attempt.

Good point. I suppose they played the percentages. You make that chip shot how often?

Funnily enough, I suspect he’ll have other offers that may be more enticing.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Sun Nov 09, 2025 9:33 amSuch a wcu thing to do . Bahahahaha.

Re: WCU Football
Man I would not want to unrush the field and the PA needs to wait for the signal from the officials. I feel bad for them. WCU could still pull this off I think but Mercer has to implode the rest of the season and WCU has to win out. I would like to see WCU make the playoffs.T-Dog wrote: ↑Sat Nov 08, 2025 11:17 pmThe PA announced "IT'S GOOD!!!" The QB will not be in that part of WNC playing football next year but I am not sure we can afford to get him to the NW part of the NC mountains either with those numbers. He has to be attracting some looks from the Prig4 conferences.
This is my very generic signature added to each post.

Bob Waters Field must of been built on some ancient Indian burial ground. WCU football is cursed.NattyBumppo'sRevenge wrote: ↑Sat Nov 08, 2025 6:53 pmWCU fans thought they made the FG at the end and rushed the field thinking they won.
