We’re trending the wrong way. But at the time the position was we are App State and we don’t tolerate mediocrity. There were plenty of questions about DLO coming in. Mostly his lack of head
Coaching experience and his meddling nfl career. We all were understanding there would be a learning curve but this is on a whole other level of bad. And I’m it buying this staff knows what the hell they are doing, it’s the players fault. Half of this roster is new so you can’t blame Clark. Ok you want to make the argument DLO, if given outstanding talent, can win and maybe he can, but what if he doesn’t get his dudes? This season is quickly demonstrating his ability to be a good head coach is highly debatable. Firing Clark to get absolutely destroyed by everyone with a pulse the next season is not what anyone was anticipating. We are easily in the bottom 10 of worst FBS teams this year. Let that sink in
Clark had two losing seasons btw
He had 1 losing season at 5-7 and 1 6-6 season which is not a losing season.
You are right.

2022 included two FCS teams though.

I honestly don't think our current team could beat a second FCS team this year, not the way we have played the last month. Hell, we barely scraped by Lindenwood and nobody even knew who they were before we scheduled them. I would really be concerned about playing a good FCS team right now.

Losing season was actually 5-6, due to game being cancelled due to Helene.

i saw loggains laughing with the jmu coach...and then the post game interview...i mean he just seems so nonchalant like he couldnt care less....i dont know....i'm not saying fire the guy...what concerns me is we've had 2 bi weeks this season and looked equally bad both times...didnt see progress....on the other side of the coin is i also understand when you have a beatup offensive line that was suspect to begin with, then your offense is going to be shit regardless. tonight was absolutely embarrasing...i fully expected to get our ass kicked but thought we'd show some fight. someone here mentioned loggains was playing with his son on the sideline during the game when we were getting killed? is that true? and keeping swann in there just to get obliterated and now has what's probably a significant injury...this is mind blowing. i knew this season would probably be not great but didn't quite expect this....i really hope loggains shows significant improvement next year. i'm just disgusted

If we played in the FCS playoffs we would lose in the first round.

I’ve long been a supporter of DG, but if this trend doesn’t reverse real damn quick, he needs to be on the bus out of town with DLo in December.

Western ran a promo to let a fan call a play a couple years ago. We’re so dogshit right now, maybe we could try the same

I don't think any of us actually expected a win today. But, I also don't think anyone saw the lack of anything occurring today. We were predicted to be 3 touchdown underdogs. OK. I don't think there would be any of us complaining about whole lot had we been beaten even by 4 scores today.
1 yard rushing and less than 150 yards total. That is crap, even an FCS playing Alabama can do better than that. There are deep, deep problems with Appalachian State football. I hope those in charge can figure this out. We have never been a laughing stock but we are now.

Our 24 year old General Manager Landon Grier. I am sure he will do great as he progresses but likely got this job as his dad, Chris Grier, is the GM of the Miami Dolphins. His brother, Jackson, is on the team too.

Why would we hire a 24 year old to be our GM? What type of experience can he possibly have? Again, lets find some proven lower-level guys that have been in the game for a long time. Experience matters.

Five years? Lmao. In the TP in NIL era you have two max
Look at JMU, 2023 lost coach, had to replace a ton in 2024 and won 8 in a down year, replaced a ton again in 2025 and look to be heading to the playoff. 5 years is a complete joke, teams at our level are rebuilding every GD year from now on.

Anyone who thinks broke App St is firing a coach after a year is smoking something. Plan on 3 years.
Why wouldn't we? The guy doesn't have it and that is patently obvious to anyone that watches our games.

There’s something called a buyout.

They were trending up during this era…we’ve been trending down for 6 years now. And at Rock Bottom.
