So are they the same people who hired Capel? I am tired of hearing about the "people who count" and "the powers to be" that our AD is able to hide behind.Appersrule wrote:Capel will NOT be fired mid-season but he won't last 2 days after their 1st round exit in the SoCon tourney. No one on his staff is capable of turning this around, so you might as well just ride it out and end this failure at the end of the year. The karma of what the powers to be (not Charlie), did to Houston Fancher is coming back to bite people in the butt.

They are the exact same people who hired Capel, and I'm sorry your tired of hearing about these people because you will be hearing about them for a long time. Big time college athletics (like the FBS we are entering) is run by big money donors who call the shots, and even especially so at schools a strapped for money as ASU.So are they the same people who hired Capel? Compared to Wofford, Furman and the way it has been yes. Do not mistake it for "Big Time" aka the ACC/SEC.bcoach wrote:Big time? Really?

It would seem that Cobb being the A.D. that he would technically be the one who fired Fancherl. Many on here give Cobb credit for the successes in football the past several years, so why wouldn't he get the blame for the firing of Fancher, hiring of Buzz, and subsequently Capel?

Don't know what board you've been reading, but every post about the basketball situation places the blame squarely on Cobb, exactly where it should be. Giving him credit for his successes and pointing out his failures are not mutually exclusive.JCline0429 wrote:It would seem that Cobb being the A.D. that he would technically be the one who fired Fancherl. Big money donors influence every athletic department. Ultimately, the responsibility still rests on the athletic director.

Re: App vs Georgia - Part 2
Oh you can rest easy. I will not confuse us with the SEC. Just to let you know, there actually is a big time contributor at Wofford who would also qualify as one if he were in the SEC. My point is that the AD either is responsible or he is not. Hiding behind contributors is not where " Big Time" athletic directors position themselves.Appersrule wrote:Compared to Wofford, Furman and the way it has been yes.
