We dont have a consistent number 2 scorer.

Njock is a bit of a dissapointment to me. I was expecting him to step up this year after sitting out last season. He looked great on what recruiting film we had on him. I figured he would be at least out #2 scorer.

It seems like we keep getting pretty good athletes that can't shoot FTs and are streaky scorers. Coach is good at giving us winning seasons overall and his record shows it. We he needs help with recruiting. Being on the outside im not sure exactly what the issue is, but we should be able to compete with our peers for quality recruits and we just dont seem to do it consistently. Someone mentioned he gets a lot out of a little as a coach, but it begs the question, why does he keep having to work with that?
It’s his first competition in over a year. Let’s see how he plays once he gets some court time.
Pretty sure he played in international competition this summer.

Banks was preseason 2nd team all Sun Belt, I believe. Pretty sure more was expected of him than Njock

Not sure why we travelled all the way there to play a 2:00 game on a Wednesday afternoon. Much less the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.
That is ridiculous. Who scheduled this game?

Our guys were probably not too excited about this one. Not an excuse for losing though.

Spoke with a former player. The season is going as he predicted a month ago right now, which is why I curbed my enthusiasm. The injury to Vasser didn’t help either. Let’s hope they figure it out and go on a crazy run in the conference tourney. Otherwise, the team just isn’t that good.

Interesting take. Is the issue poor recruiting choices, a lack of solid recruits, not enough NIL money to land better recruits, or all of the above?

While still a bit early, It doesn’t seem like the big men have reached their potential yet.
We’ve been spoiled with some pretty good paint guys the past few years.

We have been slow to the rebound the past two games. Led to the blow out Monday night and to the loss yesterday.

Embarrassing. I had planned to attend a few games this season but am having second thoughts after these last 2 miserable performances.

Agreed, the lack of activity in getting position, boxing out and crashing boards is very concerning. Too much stopping and standing around when shots are put up.

Fair questions, but I didn’t really dive that deep into it. It was more of their opinion based on seeing them in person. Like most situations, it is probably a mixture of a multitude of things. My personal critique of Kerns is that he is not a strong offensive coach. It seems that the same issues arise yearly, but it’s probably something we have to deal with as fans and hope for a great year every couple of seasons.
