Also, we get about 12 extra practices, which is nice.

Stay tuned for more information on ticket availability and travel options.
Dowell Loggains, App State Head Football Coach:
"It's an honor in college football to be able to play in a bowl game, and we're excited for the opportunity to do that on national TV in the JLab Birmingham Bowl. Our seniors will get to play another game, and our team will benefit from the extra practices. The foundation of our program is competition – this is another great opportunity to compete!"

Ok. We have another chance to end the season on a positive note and to get some revenge on our biggest rival. How sweet it would be to lift that bowl trophy up and do it at the stink’s expense. Lets get it done APP!
We had a chance last month and were too incompetent to line up correctly so the TD got called back. If they are going to play in this game then we better clean up the mistakes made against Arkansas State. A big reason to play is to get better so they better play a lot better this time. I was really hoping to just have this nightmare of a season behind me and focus on the potential of an improved 2026 season.
Okay bud. Then don’t watch. Start your scouting now for next season and email the coaches. We have been gifted another App State Football game in 2025. No other explanation or statement is going to make me care less or complain about it. Enjoy life and the good surprises like this.

It would be completely ignorant for App not to play this game. Almost every team ahead of them that turned down the bowl invite are undergoing coaching changes, which makes sense.
This is great for the players, coaches, school, and athletic department.
GO MOUNTAINEERS!!

I’ve got four years left, AND I’ve been working out lately!

I have to think the SBC also pushed us to accept. Not having an opponent for GS would have been a bad look. I hope we don't lose a ton of money on this.

I’ve been harsh on him, but massive massive props to Loggains for accepting this invite. The easy thing for him to do was quietly decline like the 8 teams before us did. I honestly won’t be upset if we lose. These are very difficult circumstances with so many players already declaring their intentions to enter the portal or play elsewhere next season.

But him saying he’s not going to run from our arch rival and he’ll put together a team with whoever wants to go out there one more time? That’s how you build a culture.

Refusing to play them would be far more embarrassing than playing and losing, imo.

I mean isn’t there automatically a payout for playing in a bowl? Probably at least a million.

1 year left.
But have a Microdisectomy next week. I think I could be just drugged up enough to throw for 300 and 3tds by Dec 29.

If we get $1M then this was a no brainer! I know bowls pay, but doubt this one is $1M.
